Someone must have told Haim Saban about dubstep recently, because here is a two-minute video -- an official video, not some fan thing -- of the newest incarnation of the Power Rangers dancing to a dubstep version of the PR theme. If I may repeat the time-honored tradition of 35-45 year-old men when watching a younger generation dance -- a tradition passed down for over 100 years -- I'd like to exclaim: "That's not dancing, that's just flailing about!" Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go find a lawn to tell children to get off of. Thanks to theBRUCE for the tip.

Every dubstep song in existence sounds the exact same to me. How people dance to this kind of music is just beyond me.
Really the only people who liked this vid are those who blindly love Power Rangers everything. Whereas lots of the Power Ranger fans are going "Why is this a thing?"
The only Dubstep that doesn't make me want to vomit with rage is Promises by Nero from the Hewlett-Packard Beats Audio enhanced netbook commercial.
The only good Power Rangers I've seen on recent years is R.P.M. Those people should've gotten some gold medals for turning a goofy-as-fuck show like Engine Sentai Go-onger and turning it into something with a more dark and mature undertones.
Actually, seeing how three quarters of those moves would end up snapping my body in half, I think that MUST be dancing. There is skill involved at least. Skill that I don't possess.
...I'll just sit here, in this corner.
I just had a realization. The current Power Ranger actors are at an age to have grown up with Power Rangers. Crazy!
@eruantano Even crazier? The first Pink Ranger actress now plays a member of a SWAT team on a current prime-time show.
Could be worse.
The current series in Japan (Go-Busters) switched to a new dubstep opening. When the previous one was awesome.
Bloody hell its like listening to someones Dad, the amount of times this week you've mentioned 'Dubstep' this week in your posts. Thats stuff died out in the UK years ago seems like the US is yet to hear that though
It hasn't died its gone back to its roots after America took it too far like we do with many things. Its like saying DnB is dead but Hospitial Records is still doing quite well. Pop culture just got there hands on it and destroyed what it was orignally was and made it kewl to listen to. Just like it is now kewl to profess to everybody that you are nerdy because you wear glasses and plaid.
@PIGCITY Much thanks for the news report from Futureland! Pray tell us, Whast willst my people be listening to in the years to come?
Yeah, dubstep is still really popular here. I think it only started to get popular about a year or two ago.
So this is different from usual how? I mean Power Rangers always look ridiculous and do ridiculous things. It is how they roll.
Now isn't the time to tell you about the legion of extraordinary dancers, huh?

If that video doesn't play you can just watch it on Hulu. Stunned, and worried about where the world is going.
Isn't that pretty muchthe same thinhg they do when they posing before attacking or when they're hit by the enemies' attacks?
I love how it appears the girls a trying REALLY hard to dance. Notice they weren't in it for most of the run time.
Really? Because it looks like a low-energy version of '80's era break-dancing. Which is kinda appropriate since apparently "dubstep" has become '80's era techno.
@Gallen_Dugall Yeah, the dancing in the video is pretty much just breakdancing, with some Robot thrown in, some bits of other dance styles (like the bit that looked kind of like ballroom dancing), and for some reason the Blue Ranger breaks out some mime stuff at one point where he's feeling up an invisible wall.
The stuff they are doing is slightly more advanced that what they used to do in the 80's, this is more current high level competition breaking. I actually hate seeing break to dubstep because its not on beat at all, and doesn't fit the flow of the music. The robot and mime stuff would be locking which isn't bad to dubstep to a degree, I've found some good tracks to lock to. Certain artists are taking what dubstep orginally was and are flushing it down the drain, "techno nerds" would let you know thats brostep, with orginal dubstep being nothing like that.
I'm still not impressed with the dubstep thing. Also, those helmets are stupid.
@James.k.Polk yeah. Speaking of which, I'll carry on the tradition of old men grumbling at the younger trends. Dubstep doesn't impress me either. I remember when it breaking out a few years ago and people were acting like it was such a hot, new thing. Did it take a bunch of low warbling synthesizers to make them aware of electronic music? It's only distinctions were a heavy use of "WAWM-WAWM-WAAAWM" sounds and an irregular rhythm. I was thinking "What's the big deal?"
