More links from around the web!
Also, J Jonah Jameson is apparently going to play Gordon:

I would be remiss if I didn't ask, but isn't it Dum Dum Dugan (DOO-gen) and not Dum Dum Duggan (DUHG-un)?
This is...not actually resembling a Batman series, overmuch.Though just having Batman in something seems to be how DC counts on a hit. Like a Cargo cult.
Professor Pyg looks like if Farmer Vincent became a Victorian gentleman.
A gentleman who harvests humans for meat.
This whole thing is an abomination, but I'll give credit where it's due: Professor Pyg is a legitimately creepy villain.
I get a kick out of all the people lobbying the same complaints against this they did against Brave and the Bold. Too kiddie etc. Do I think it will be has good has BTAS and Brave and the Bold doubt it but I will watch it after all I like Ultimate Spiderman because I gave it a chance. Oh and that's not Dum Dum Dugan that's clearly the GOON
Alfred bears an eerily close resemblance to the Bouncer Splicers in Bioshock II. And the way Katana is inexplicably shoehorned in here still baffles me; why didn't they do the sensible thing and make the show about "Batman and the Outsiders"? They already had a couple of episodes to themselves in Brave in the Bold, so it's definitely a team kids are familiar with.
@mqtwells Metamorpho is showing up as well, and Tobias Whale, the archenemy of Black Lighting, is showing up.
Hmmm....
Why do they all have dead, soulless eyes? The frog fucker is the only one displaying any emotion, and that emotion seems to be "I dont give a fuck". Katana looks very much like a sex doll. Also, how the FUCK did the CIA end up hiring an Asian member of the league of shadows? Don't they screen for stuff like that? Alfred being former MI6 also doesnt make sense. Who hires a former spy for a butler? What former spy gets a job as a butler? I'm sure there's some vague explantion for this in some comic somewhere, but the Alfred most of us know is not a former spy. This background has likely been made up, or dredged up from a forgotten comic issue, to account for him being a crimefighter himself.
@chefjmh I'm assuming Katana was CIA first before the League of Assassins.
Also, Alfred being part of MI6 is a part of his character in the comics. It even showed up in B:TAS, but no one complained about it back then.
@GamerSlyRatchet Either way, seems those two groups would be mutually exclusive is all I'm saying. It's a part of his character sure, but they're clearly springboarding from that into crime fighting. I feel like they're taking a cool bit of backstory and life experience and saying "Oh, that makes him qualified to be a vigilante!" Which, no, it doesn't.
So, just to be on the right page... they took away from us the MOST awesome cartoon about Batman and DC superheroes EVER in the universe (not to mention the best musical episode EVER too)... to make way for this? THIS?!?!?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Oh God. What a joke. Because it has to be a joke, right? RIGHT?!?!
I was gone before I saw this...I'm twice as gone now. I will be perfectly capable of putting this into my "Batman file of things that dont really exist" right alongside however many seasons of THE BATMAN were made.
@longbowhunter I'm not one to go with the "I hate this already and it hasn't even aired" crowd, but I think I hate this already. Martial arts lady over Robin? Alfred looking tougher than Batman? 3rd tier villains? (Look, he may be super creepy, but NO ONE outside of comic geeks ever heard of Prof. Pig, who looks like he was inspired by MOTEL HELL.)
Anyway, 65 episodes from now it'll be done. So...
Ick, no, wrong. Batman reminds me of the demons from Constantine, or those babies born without brains and only half a skull...
Katana being former League of Assassins intrigues me though.
It's an easy way to tie her to the Batman mythos, plus it ups the odds of getting Ra's Al Ghul later in the series.
Heck - it could make a Talia encounter all the MORE interesting as Talia would possibly see Katana as competition.
Oh my god, is it going to be Grant Morrison Batman? Just call Adam West to voice it, then
And to top off the ludicrousness of Alfred's new look, they made his preferred weapon a PULSE rifle. Yep. Apparently this was their answer to the Aurora concerns. I realize concerns needed to be addressed, but I just feel that-WAIT A MINUTE, WHY THE F*** DOES ALFRED EVEN HAVE A "PREFERRED" WEAPON??? HE'S NOT A GODDAMN CRIMEFIGHTER!!! DAMMIT WRITERS, THIS IS NOT HOW ALFRED HELPS BATMAN!!! HE IS NOT A GODDAMN ENABLER!!! F***!!!
@slydante Energy Weapons—the way to have your heroes gunning people down while avoiding the actual consequences, OR having them avoid performing violence because they don't want to hurt people. You know, the MORAL artistic decision, for the kids!
@Ranchoth Look, I'm kind of relieved Alfred's not carrying actual guns. The first time I saw the preview image with the gun-toting Alfred, all I could think is, "Why would Batman condone his butler using firearms? Batman has a pretty strong anti-gun position. This seems wrong."
@mrm1138 No no, the point isn't just simply that he's using guns. Hell, as many people pointed out when we first saw the preview image, Alfred had used guns to defend Wayne Manor on other occasions (like an attack from Bane).
What makes this awful is that Alfred - Batman's father figure & Bruce's main link back to the real world & a normal, happy life - IS DIRECTLY ASSISTING HIM IN CRIMEFIGHTING. That...That is just so OOC, dammit.
Why is the villains roster looking like it was decided during a game of Star Fox?
This looks like it's aimed at a younger audience than I was hoping for. A talking toad? A pig dude?
@OneMinuteGalactica If by younger audience you mean "someone who's beyond humanity enough to like this shit" then yes, you're correct.
@OneMinuteGalactica Look up more info on the "pig dude", & you'll see he's actually quite BEYOND a younger audience, to say the least...
Batman's weapons include the Batmobile. I will assume there will be a lot of thugs being ran over.
@Lithroe You know, 742 instances of that joke is why he turned to supervillainy in the first place. =P
@TheRealDE12 @CaptainZADL What, you mean that "The Eater of Faces" isn't suitable for a cartoon?
@randomfandom @TheRealDE12 @CaptainZADL Of course he isn't... HE'S GAY!!! God forbid our innocent children are exposed to his queer sorcery! the fact he's a sociopathic cannibal assassin with a rather snazzy taste for clothing is immaterial. HE'S GAAAAAAYYYY!!!!
@CaptainZADL ...So is that you can't believe they went with a more B-list villain, or can;t believe that for a kid's show, they chose one that creator Grant Morrisson described as "one of the weirdest, most insane characters that's ever been in Batman. We hear a lot about Batman facing crazy villains but we tried to make this guy seem genuinely disturbed and disconnected". This guy: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Gd8NBIma-zo/TIxEEEmQbdI/AAAAAAAAOso/Fd5MH9CIyc8/s1600/batmanandrobin14+-+pyg.jpg
@slydante @CaptainZADL I can't get a feel for the show. I know Mr.Toad was working for Professor Pyg so I understand why they are together but how are they doing these crazy villain roster?
With Alfred toting weapons and Katana I would tell you it was going to be a serious show. With the animated look I swear Professor Pyg would do bacon themed crimes.
I guess I'll wait to see it to judge.
Heck maybe well get to see Zaz soon.
@Someguy @slydante @CaptainZADL I love Prof Pyg but I never thought I'd get to see him on screen. I hope they manage to keep some of his spirit while making him suitable for children. I feel the same as when I saw Bane on TAS years ago, I thought then he was too extreme and modern for a cartoon!
