@da_bearon I'm going to say I prefer detonated as more accurate - unless one ship in ten was killed by the other nine.

- • Is Joseph Gordon-Levitt the new Batman? Citing unnamed sources, HitFix is reporting that he will indeed be the actor wearing the cowl in the upcoming Justice League movie. While this makes sense given how The Dark Knight Rises was building up the John Blake character, don't consider the story anything more than rumor mill fodder/wishful fanboy thinking until Warner Bros. makes it official.
- • Speaking of Batman, The Dark Knight Rises hits DVD and Blu-ray on December 4th. While you prepare yourself for the annoyance that will be everyone around you impersonating Bane (again), check out this lengthy featurette on the film. You can find previews of more special features from the release over at /Film.
- • The first plot description Star Trek Into Darkness has been released...and we still don't know what the hell it is about. From Badass Digest (who also has an unmissable breakdown of what this all probably means):
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
Makes sense...in the most ambiguous way possible. Thanks J.J.! - • Cumberbatchians and Freemen the world over are in mourning over Vulture's reports that Sherlock won't be back until 2014 at the earliest.
- • Here's a teensy bit of new information and lots of photos from this year's Doctor Who Christmas episode, "The Snowmen."
- • Producer Rick McCallum has retired. Den of Geek ponders what this might mean for that live-action Star Wars series. Not that any of us actually believed it would happen anyway.
- • Comics Alliance has a round-up of production art from the cancelled live-action version of Akira.
- • Toy News International presents this breakdown of the new TMNT action figure assortment.
- • BACON PANCAKES IS THE MEME THAT WON'T DIE!
- • Need something to wash all those bacon pancakes down with? Then allow me to suggest some Pepsi Energy Cola. Even though it's endorsed by the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, I can't help but think that Darth Vader doesn't exactly have discernible taste buds, what with the lava and the burning and all. Since this drink is only available in Japan right now, my guess is that it gets more bitter with each subsequent sip. Just like the Star Wars films themselves! I kid! (Via Food Invasion)

More links from around the web!
Well, in honor of Chris Cummins' standup work in bringing us two articles in one day—and to make up for missing the deadline thanks to being unconscious most of the day—Ranchoth's Daily Sensibly Dressed Pinups™ brings a double feature: Donna Plotner and model Nati Abascal...wearing Gus Grissom's Mercury pressure suit!
http://traspacepark.org/images/Donna.jpg
(On two different occasions)
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/tonyquine/Mercury/Mercurywoman9.jpg
P.S.: I had to manually re-type on of those links to get it to post correctly, without gibberish being inserted by the comments system.
It's really a pity VVM isn't being run by the "old-school" Village Voice crew, anymore...seeing as their in-house programmer would ONLY have been a drugged out bohemian artisté.
@Timely-Tardis-Lego @Crevette plus you can eat cake... technically you can eat people but it's socially tricky.
@Gallen_Dugall @Timely-Tardis-Lego @Crevette
Cake or death... cake or death. Cake, please!
@Crevette you left out the "all"
To be honest,I find that Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be most Bruce Wayne-looking actor to play Batman than any other actor who played Bruce Wayne/Batman in the movies...
Still not quite there yet, though...
@FabioRezende What the fuck does Bruce Wayne look like? He's rarely consistent from panel-to-panel, let alone artist-to-artist. Have you ever read a comic book?
@bonzulac @FabioRezende There's a picture in my head that is quite consistent. Looks like the Bruce Wayne from the New Adventures of Batman...
@FabioRezende @bonzulac I fucking new it! You have never read a comic book in your life. Do you at least read books without as many pictures?
@bonzulac @FabioRezende You're the one who needs to read. Clearly FabioRezende is saying that the perfect actor for the role would be a shapeshifter - DUH!
So Topless Robot has been reduced to one article every two days? With commenters desperately trying to keep the site alive with news, lists, and jokes in that article's comment thread?
I kind of wish Rob had just officially killed the site instead of going through with the myVoiceNation new comments system. We'd have been left wanting and complaining, but the site would have went out on top, and not this rapid, sad fall to the bottom.
@FabioRezende @Baines yeah - read the FFF he posted there, apparently Bill Corbett liked it on his twitter or something, but you can't discuss the madness in the comments because you can't link comments. Kinda drains the joy out of it.
If the drink is only vailable in Japan, then why are those cans written in English? I want one dammit.
@East_Threadly The Japanese (in this case katakana) is written there too. There are a few reasons why it's written in English, one because the English writing is also their brand logo. The Japanese people love English, like the people who get Kanji tatoos and have no idea what they say. One of my favorite stories is the Japanese Valentines card (The one where girls give to boys) that said, "Happy VD."
@East_Threadly I don´t know who it works, but you can import them:

Do you have the New Super Mario Bros 2 game. Well geekscape.net has news for you.
Thanks geekscape.net for the info and Nintendo for finally rewarding my obsessive compulsiveness.
Made a steam group, and I'm shamelessly advertising it again. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Topless-Robot-Irregulars
@da_bearon @Timely-Tardis-Lego Yeah... unfortunately, I'm horrible with names(To the point that I forget mine all the time), So I'm about as lost as you on the names.
@Someguy @Timely-Tardis-Lego You should join while there are still plenty of digital cupcakes
I found this, and thought it was worth sharing. Morph-y face thing.http://heaintevenagoodlyrottenappeltho.tumblr.com/post/36645447308/hopelesslyhiddled-companionofbreath-ive
Hey, anyone want to see a new X-men movie? Well tough, there doing it anyways and Patrick and Ian look like they are on board.

Thanks Nerdbastard and geekscape.net for me getting two sources without even trying.
@Someguy Chris Cummins just posted it on the TR feed. Wow! 2 posts in one day!
I'd like to add my own daily list.
"10 Things The Jetsons Thought We'd Still Be Using In The Future".
10. Typewriters - Not keyboards, but honest to God ribbon and ink using typewriters that you had to use white out if you wanted to delete a typo. I saw Mr Spacely's secretary using one. Maybe shes a hipster.
9. Newspapers - I'll be surprised if there are any paper newspapers 10 years from now. By then they will cost five dollars for a daily. Apparently the Jetsons still have theirs delivered by a paperboy!
8. Money - Crooks in the future still like robbing banks. With identity theft being a more lucrative endeavor for criminals, why would they still be doing that?
7. Postal Service - The USPS is already failing thanks to e-mail and other electronic messaging devices. Whens the last time you mailed a letter?
6. Smoking - With public tobacco smoking coming close to being punishable by guillotine, its weird seeing George light up in his office without fear.
5. Regular TV Viewing - The Jetsons still have to wait for their favorite shows to come on. Don't they have Tivo, or On Demand, or Hulu or any other video sharing technology?
4. Commuting To Work - More and more business' have their employees work from home and do all their work online. You think George could just push all those buttons from the comfort of his apartment.
3. Magnetic Tape Data Storage - Imagine trying to play 'Skyrim' if it were stored on tape. The cartridge would be the size of freight train and load time would be measured in decades.
2. Huge Computers - And try playing 'Skyrim' on a computer that takes up several wings of your building.
1. 1950s Family Values - Dad works, mom stays home, kids are obedient and do well in school. Did this ever happen? In the Jetsons future apparently Eisenhower got re-elected.
@skrag2112 Now you are going to tell me that you can't run computers off of sprockets and cogs!
NO!!! Not another year!!! I NEED my Sherlock fix!! I can't wait another year!!! I CAN"T!!! http://i.imgur.com/F59HU.gif
@Someguy Ok, ok, everything's going to be fine..everything's going to be fine..everything's going to be fine..everything's going to be fine..everything's going to be fine..everything's going to be fine..everything's going to be fine..everything's going to be fine..http://i.imgur.com/o2XZw.gif
@Crevette @Timely-Tardis-Lego @Someguy It'll be alright, I'll be waiting with you. http://i.imgur.com/gMDV5.gif
@Timely-Tardis-Lego @Someguy This is so me right now. I just got hooked on Sherlock in the past month and am beyond despair right now.
Matt Fraction has earned my virtual high five of the day. He is donating his royalties from Hawkeye #7 to the Sandy relief effort.
Thanks blog.Newsarama.com for the story and Matt for being Awesome.
Do you like Red Dwarf? Do you like top ten lists? Do you like arguing? Then Denofgeek.com has a list for you.

Thanks Denofgeek.com for getting the order completely wrong, getting my heart rate right up to running pace and making me hide behind my short sighted views. I had a blast.
The Ginormous Castle Grayskull on MattyCollector met it's pre-order minimum. Orders are open until Jan 4 to take your $250!

@Ford_Thundercougarfalconbird Now that should give them time to figure out how to make the thing.
@Someguy @Ford_Thundercougarfalconbird Maybe the same way Top Gear made the 1:1 scale model airplane.
Sweet merciful mongoose, an update!
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman. . . eh. I'm hoping they go a different direction. I really enjoy him as an actor, but I don't see the Nolanverse meshing well with a Justice League story.
Star Trek has Benedict Cumberbatch, and therefore I will be in love with it. That is all.
I have never really understood the appeal of Adventure Time. Of course, I don't have cable and CN stubbornly refuses to release its fruits to the hungry denizens of the internet, so perhaps that's a good thing. I'm still bitter about missing out on Thundercats. At least Amazon Instant lets me get my Doctor Who fix. . .
@rabidronnie The Nolanverse might work if they use Kingdom Come as the story.
@Ford_Thundercougarfalconbird @rabidronnie ...with Batman crippled, using a powered exo-frame, sulking in the ruins of the Batcave while using unmanned drones to do the majority of his increasingly futile work?'could happen.:D
@Ranchoth @Ford_Thundercougarfalconbird @rabidronnie Plus Batman's son gets it on with Robin's daughter.
