Yeah, I know I just posted about Iron Man 3. But then I saw this, and thought, "How can I not?"
I'm thinking most of us loved The Avengers. But when we love things, we in the nerd community tend to nit-pick them nonetheless - Star Trek fans are particularly adept at this. So even if you liked the movie as much as I did, this tally of all its "sins" in three minutes is pretty funny. And I await those of you in comments who will come up with logical, canonical explanations for all of them.

The UK showing didn't get the Shwarama scene (it was sort of a 'sorry we gave it to the brits ages before you guys' scene) - If I was going to pick a flaw, it would be that.
Also: I said this when the Honest Trailer came out; anyone who watches Leverage knows you don't have to see the comms for them to be there.
Last time I checked the Dislike to Like ratio was even and there's an Everything Wrong With Everything Wrong With The Avengers response video, so it's as official a backlash as you can get on You Tube.

@EliasAlgorithm @CaptainZADL Nerds know who Thanos is, and Nick Fury, and that Tony's heart has a metal thing in it that was probably the reason the mind control "didn't work" (or that it did work, but Loki is just saving it for later), etc, etc, etc...

Everything leading into it was about how it was pulling from those other movies to explore further into that universe. Comic fans are wrong because you' can't get your head around that? You're basically saying that anything you don't understand is stupid.

@ssjfro @CaptainZADL No, I'm just pointing out that by all measurable qualities the movie was both successful and popular. If it were as bad as you say, it could still be successful (after all, not all good movies are successful and not all popular movies are good) but it wouldn't be as successful.
In cases of bad successful movies, critics usually pan it, and the populace goes anyway. In this case we have an agreement between both which is rare.
Further, like I said above, you're being willfully stupid to ignore the films that came before it and provided valuable context. Yes it was written in a way that someone who hadn't seen the previous films could enjoy, but they'd miss a lot.
In short, you get to get thrown into space for being willfully stupid and overly contrary. Enjoy!
@CaptainZADL I'm sorry, I thought I was talking to an individual capable of independent thought. I can see you have similarly mistaken me to be a fellow member of the "collective" if you think the "every one else is doing it" argument holds any weight.

@ssjfro @CaptainZADL I'm sorry, the 92 percent to 96 percent positive rating from Rotten Tomatoes (critics and viewers) is drowning you out. You'll have to whine louder.
@CaptainZADL @ssjfro So the ends justify the means? A movie's quality should be determined by the capitol it grosses, not its content? Reviewers have been doing it all wrong this whole time, wasting time describing movies in prose, when they should just be posting dollar figures.

@CaptainZADL Using one movie to serve as the sequel to four separate movie series is a recipe for confusion. It takes away any chance of being a compelling action blockbuster, and demotes it to fanfare.

@ssjfro Being the 6th movie in a series kinda makes it a sequel. Just because it doesn't say in the title that it's not building on Iron Man, Iron man 2, Captain America (The First Avenger), The Incredible Hulk, and Thor does not in any way mean that it's not building on those prior 5 movies.
To ignore that is just willful stupidity.

@EliasAlgorithm @CaptainZADL You're wrong. It is very obviously the first (and only) Avengers movie. So not having a series makes it a "stand alone" by definition. Granted it doesn't feel that way, but thats due to shitty writing, not because its a sequel.

1) Superhero pissing contests are not wrong
2) Regarding Iron-Man falling from space, do "magic" portals let through the gravity of the planet a few hundred yards above which they are formed, if they are in the right position? How do gravitons work, anyway?
@FabioRezende There were reasons for the two super hero pissing contests: the first was "I'm taking my brother to Asgard to face justice there!" vrs. "No you're not, he's the only one who knows the location of a very dangerous in the wrong hands, potentially limitless energy source that could drive humanity into a new era of free energy, and he killed a bunch of people, he's facing our justice."The second was Loki's mind control staff making them all fight.

The Amazing Spider-Man video these guys did was relatively good and pointed to actual flaws. This one, not so much. Not so much at all. They're nitpicking and trying to prove "Ha-ha, we don't take it so seriously, so you shouldn't either!" But, in my opinion, the whole schtick falls flat this time around. Womp womp. Maybe next time.

I take the most offense to the last two.
Firstly, the fact that the scene with Thantos was "Homework" Was the point. If you knew who he was and what his presence implied made you go "Oh shit, things are getting real". If you didn't know, it meant that either you asked your friend "Hey, who was the purple guy with the massive chin. and why did you go 'Oh shit.' When you saw him?," Or you went home and looked it up, and then go "OH! So that's what <insert bits of obscure foreshadowing here> meant, and that's why everyone else went 'Oh shit.' when they saw the purple guy with the massive chin!"
Secondly, I know for a fact that no one in either of the two showings I went to see missed the Shwarma King scene. You know why? Because the first time, it was all people who knew it was coming, and the theater exploded with laughter. The second time, about a week later, I told people who were getting up to leave, "Hey wait, there's a great bit coming up."
@MetalheroDamien For that matter, Nick Fury's cameo at the end of Iron Man was homework for some people. When I went to see it with a friend of mine whose not a big comics reader, but likes super hero flicks the first thing he asked about after we left was "So who was Samuel Jackson's character at the end and what's the Avengers Initiative thing he was talking about?""

@MetalheroDamien Or assume it was something that will be explained later in another movie. This was the point. Otherwise they could have thrown any villain in there and never went back to it. THAT would be homework. Apparently these guys wanted everything handed to them on a platter.
@MetalheroDamien Funny story. Watching the end of Avengers with my kids and when they showed Thanos, the guy next to me was trying to be all hip and stuff and said to his friends "See? I told you Apocalypse was going to be the next bad guy." at about the same time I said to my kids "Oh shit, it's Thanos!" To which he 'corrected' himself and said 'I mean, Thanos.'My kids and I just looked at each other and rolled our eyes and busted up laughing.
