• IGN has a preview of Gearbox's upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines game. Fact: If I had a time machine I would zoom ahead to February so that I could buy this game. Yes, this is as pathetic as it sounds. But when I was done playing I'd go back to 1980, catch a matinee of The Empire Strikes Back then buy some Mego action figures. So it would all even out.

• Finally, this will be the last update I post before new editor Luke takes over tomorrow morning. It's been great being able to provide you with news and insights over the past couple of weeks. Thanks for being so awesome. Additonally, my eternal gratitude goes to Rob Bricken for having enough faith in me to initially let me cover the site, and for generally being a great guy. Additional thank yous go to Nick Lucchesi and Keith Plocek at Voice Media Group for allowing me to continue to post throughout this transitional period. You are all great readers...even though you may oppose my indifference towards Man of Steel. Those interested can follow me on Twitter (I'm @bionicbigfoot there) and at my website to see what I'm up to, and I'll continue to contribute Daily Lists here as well. And be sure to tune in bright and early tomorrow for the new era of Topless Robot!
It's amazing, I followed Rob over to io9.com and that site is humming with activity. They even post updates on Saturday and Sunday. They must have at least 10 different people posting stories over there.
@Canadian.Scott@miketen How am I a troll, I been on Topless Robot for nearly two years and when Rob left I went to see what his new site was about. This is probably why the new guy bailed on this site, people here can be asses sometimes.
@miketen@Canadian.Scott I will say that i have also been on the site as long as you and that you probably understand that the site is going through an editor change. To make a comment about how much smoother io9 is when a lot of us don't enjoy the site but prefer TR would be a classic example of trolling. And i am sorry for making you feel like an ass, not my intention but in the internet world there you cannot please everyone.
@arivalscientist I agree the comment section sucks but they get news stories up as fast as Mania or Superhero hype and obviously faster than Topless Robot....
@arivalscientist I saw a preview for this just a couple of weeks ago, i did not realize it was a book. Well i'll just add it to my wish list to see before the end of the year.
@Canadian.Scott@arivalscientist Oh, and the movie officially comes out on February........so unless you see a preview screening like I did, you have to put it on your wish list for next year :-(
@arivalscientist @Canadian.Scott I really didn't want to be interested in this book/movie. I saw the book a while ago on B&N.com and thought "goody. . . Twilight with zombies. Pass."
But I was a bit curious, as it sounded like an interesting concept from the first chapter (had it on a preview. . . I am weak. . . don't judge me.
)Then the trailer came out, so I watched it out of curiosity. My response: "Crap. This looks really hilarious."
So now I have to see it and I'm probably going to have to read the book as well. Glad to hear that another TR reader likes it, so I don't have to hang my head in nerd shame for watching a zombie romance flick.
@Canadian.Scott @arivalscientist Apparently this whole thing started with the writer posting his short story on the internet.........then it got picked up and he expanded it as a book.......now it's a movie.
In other words.........it was originally FAN FICTION.............
Okay, people. . . I'm pulling out the big guns. Last time I randomly walked away from my computer for an hour or so, we got an announcement. I am now going to test my amazing psychic powers by leaving. If I come back and LYT has posted, I promise to only use my powers for good.
Maybe this is the biggest trolling event of all time...Rob leaves, they take forever to hire someone, we get a replacement but he'll never show. Maybe @LYT is just some made up person. Or maybe this is one of those cases of mass hysteria and we all imagined that Rob was replaced and we still don't have a replacement.
Well as a fellow West Coaster, I can say it is a lovely morning over here! I will be at work all day, but should be able to jump on before it gets too late tonight. Hopefully I don't come home to ruins.
