That kid made me want to run away screaming. He was awful. 

Eddie Murphy is no Scatman Crothers. He's not even close. I like the animation (and Spot was great) but we could do better than Eddie Murphy. I'd rather hear some unknown do a great Scatman impression than have to put up with a celebrity voice-over that doesn't fit. 

Eddie Murphy is supposed to be great with imitating voices, at least he used to be.  You mean that he can't sound like a passable Scatman.

Well, my kids would have loved the Hong Kong Phooey movie. Not too positive about Marvin though.

We're so so sorry. We assure your spirit that those of us who actually watched any of your work enjoyed it immensely and consider this a personal attack on good taste. We don't know if you've been watching, but we all acknowledge no one thinks Eddie Murphy is funny in the slightest anymore. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to calm your wounded soul and we'll get right on it. Double time if it involves harming Michael Bay for what he did to Jazz.

I hated the second half of the Hong Kong Phooey part: the first half was fine, if underwhelming. I actually thought the Marvin the Martian short worked as a standalone, though I can't imagine why anyone thought the character could hold down a full length movie.

My GF says she'd watch the shit out of the Marvin movie if they cut out the annoying kid. I personally enjoyed the Hong Kong Phooey part.

I think with the right writers, these 2 movies could have been good fodder for the kids.

Though IMHO, I feel that the Marvin character would be better suited as a series of shorts. Along the same vain as the original cartoons.

I'm ashamed to admit it but the Hong Kong Phooey bit made me laugh. 

@T16skyhopp I doubt either would have been good, but the write-up confuses me. They look precisely faithful to the sources to me.
