This poster makes me think that a Mega Man reboot set in the 19th century isn't a bad idea...
"Lincoln did not free the slaves alone..."

I love that this clearly ultra-low-budget production does not give a damn that "Frankenstein," being the inventor's name, isn't really something that should be pluralized or used to name the monsters directly. Because it sounds so wrong as to be right. Plus the fact that it wasn't enough to just make a movie called Army of Frankensteins - it had to be set during the Civil War and involve time travel as well, because goodness knows you need those budgetary challenges. And it's riding the coattails of recent Lincoln movies without actually mentioning him in the title - just the tagline.
Army of Frankensteins is scheduled for release some time this year. Trailer after the jump...

While they might be too few in number to be considered an army, I'd like to see a movie where Victor, Henry, Wolf and Ludwig Frankenstein team up to either create a new über creature or deal with the old one.
The Creature regards Victor (the most unlikeable guy I've ever read about. He is a DICK.) as his father, hence the same name.
@Bearr I've seen that logic used in stories before. The other explanation I've seen before is that they are named after their creator, not as a family name, but just as a creation. When you are facing multiples of them in some kind of relatively fantasy setting, you want to use some name beyond the vague "The Creature" or unwieldy like "That ravening horde of Frankenstein's Monsters that were not actually made by the original Dr. Frankestein, but by that evil scientist named Sally who stole his research and is standing over there cackling".
While it may be getting a boost from recent Lincoln movies, ARMY OF FRANKENSTEINS has been in production since before the latest Lincoln based films were even green light. This film has been a long time coming
I think we've finally reached the tipping point where the dialogue in FAKE bad movie clips (in tv, movies, etc.) is actually less bad than what's in actual contemporary bad movie trailers.
"Aaaa! My heat signature!"
There was definitely time travel done for this movie clip. Get those kids back to the 80's before Corey Feldman movie is done.
I think, at this point, Frankenstein's monster should just answers to Frankenstein. Kind of how a business partner may answer for his colleague. Enough time has passed.
It's no FDR: American Badass!!
I just keep asking myself, over and over again:
HOW is MST3K not still a thriving show, if cheese like this continues to be produced year after year?
Don't get me wrong, I adore Rifftrax, but this deserves late-night network treatment.
@rabidronnie If SyFy were smart, they'd do it to their own older library as a new show. My guess is that the rights became tougher to get, once producers of bad movies realized there was value in MST3K'ing them.
@Canadian.Scott @rabidronnie @LYT I would, but then I would become very poor very, very quickly.
