Forget the first episode, it'd be interesting to see the end of Hartnell's run dramatised as the man was basically disintegrating physically and mentally.

Sort of, anyway. David Bradley, pictured above in his famous role as Hogwarts' caretaker, will play William Hartnell in the BBC's movie about the real-life origins of Doctor Who, An Adventure in Space and Time. Set to air later this year, the TV movie will also star Brian Cox as BBC head of drama Sydney Newman, and previous Who guest star Jessica Raine as producer Verity Lambert.
BBC America has the details, but if they were to do sequels, who should portray the subsequent lead actors?

And here I got all excited about the first doctor returning in the special episode. . . . Blah.
I do think it's a good casting choice, but this isn't as exciting as I wanted it to be.
I was thinking that it wouldn't be such a bad idea to re-shoot some of the lost episodes..............
@arivalscientist In the first movie, Doctor Who (yes, I named him so) activates the weapons panel on the TARDIS and blows the enemy ship to bits, phasers and torpedoes and shit.
@arivalscientistYou sir are worse then @Nicnac. If he ever touches this series...well...

@Canadian.Scott @arivalscientist @Nicnac http://i.imgur.com/8Q6grJP.jpg You dropped this Scott
@arivalscientist Lens flares every time the Tardis dematerializes or it doesn't happen.
This is not what I want for a 50th Anniversary piece, and I've been an old school Who fan for almost 30 years. Epic Fail BBC
@DacShiggy I have read that they are doing one 60 minute special to honour Who in England and then this TV movie. People in England are losing their sh*t and i must say, why are we not getting an epic tv movie or a throw back to the old Who with The Three Doctors, The Five Doctors...
@DacShiggy Hell i would even settle for Current Doctor and all the companions in a TV movie.
@DacShiggy @rabidronnie @Canadian.Scott Well they've been doing a lot of hat tips to the classic series of late, especially at the Christmas special--brought back the Doctor's face in the credits, returned to a more machine-esque console, even threw in the Great Intelligence as the villain (Nice misdirect, since Moffat hinted that the Yetis would be making an appearance--although maybe GI will bring them back eventually, too). Previously we met the Brigadier's daughter in the power of 3. I'd say drawing heavily on Classic Who won't be a problem, I just think that it'll be a bit more subtle with Moffat than it might have been with Davies.
@DacShiggy @rabidronnie @Canadian.Scott I nominate @DacShiggy to start the online petition to "Bring Back the Doctors"
@rabidronnie @Canadian.Scott @DacShiggy Here's hoping. I have a ton of books about the show and its development. It's not that I'm not interested, but I've read it all, and I'm not interested in a dramatization of it. I'm all for casting someone to play the First Doctor. Hell, they did it for The Five Doctors. But put him in an actual story for chrissakes. I just want something epic and something that draws heavily on Classic Who.
@Canadian.Scott @DacShiggy I think we'll definitely get some reuniting in the specials on the show itself. . . Moffat has promised to "take over television" this year, and he's not one to make that sort of promise lightly.
David Bradley did a great job as that cat - I didn't even realize it wasn't a real cat until now
@arivalscientist @Gallen_Dugall ...should get together with Schrodinger's to make a buddy cat genre movie
@Canadian.Scott @Gallen_Dugall @arivalscientist I was thinking more like the Odd Couple with cats, but your idea is good too. I just don't see cats in the cop role, maybe buddy criminal or something
@Gallen_Dugall @arivalscientist He's by the book...we don't even know if the other exists...coming June 2014!
@Canadian.Scott @NicnacCould have been worse. I was going to recommend Channing Tatum as David Tennant.
