When Lego does a licensed property these days, it's only a matter of time before it's a video game as well. Marvel's getting theirs in the fall, it was officially announced this morning. As in the movies, Nick Fury will be assembling a team of heroes to save the block-built universe from threats like Loki and Galactus. As not in the movies, they'll be made of virtual plastic. Over 100 characters will be featured, including the Guardians of the Galaxy - in timely fashion to plug their own movie - and Deadpool, whom parents will have to explain isn't the kind of character little kids want to be seeking other games about.
Now, let's hope Lego really does end up making games of ALL their licenses...including the fan-voted variety.

mmmmmmmm now this is good and welcome news Now to wait for the DC vs. Marvel mashup, hey it could happen everyone loves legos and TT games nowadays.
Awesome! If it's anywhere near as great as LEGO Batman 2 was, we're in for a treat.
Though even ignoring the fan-voted variety of licenses... LEGO has the TMNT license. A remake of the classic-style NES Ninja Turtles games with LEGO could be amazing.
oh, hell yes.
can't wait for this to be ignored on next year's list of the best games!

I wonder what preorder incentive GameStop's gonna have. I hope it's not Coulson or Fury, otherwise, they're gonna be hard to find. Maybe it'll be Banner, or Tony Stark
OMG, I can't wait! I love the Lego games and I love the Marvel Superhero sets. This is going to be great!
Most of the Lego games leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth (I'll admit, this is mostly because of my brother's tendency to "play" them endlessly, if by "play" you mean "wander about the menu screens switching characters for 3 hours straight"). That said, I may need this one. . .
Lego is the ultimate peacemaking company, you know? DC and Marvel, Harry Potter and LOTR, Fantasy and Sci-Fi. Geeks love them for their obvious geeky appeal, yet they're classic enough that most mundanes have fond memories of them as well. Either they're the planet's only hope for world peace, or they're the single most effective initiative of the Illuminati. Or both. Tough to say. . .
@rabidronnie Both. Definitely both.
ANOTHER LEGO GAME!!! WOOHOO!! To the STORE! http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lwl5j748tk1qze5g2o1_500.gif
