It is just another evening commute until the rain starts to fall, and the city comes alive to the sound of dripping rain pipes, whistling awnings and gurgling gutters. And in the midst, two umbrellas--one blue, one not--fall eternally in love.
It's like somebody challenged them, as a career goal, to make as many movies about things nobody makes movies about as they possibly could. Sentient lamps, action figures, bugs, old people with balloons, one-man bands...umbrellas were only a matter of time.
I fully expect one about mops and brooms next. Or keyboards - sentient keyboards. Like the one I'm typing on right noSILENCEMORTALIHAVECOMETOLIFEANDYOUWILLOBEYMEEEE............................

I was on my walk one day and I noticed an ag bag in a ditch that had fallen off a truck. Ag bags are big, white plastic marshmallows that hold hay (well, silage) for the winter on farms.
That gave me the idea for a Pixar movie where the lonely ag bag (voiced by Elijah Wood) has to make it home to the barn. I made up his companions while I walked, so I came up with a empty pack of Marlboros (Harrison Ford) and a bottle of Gatorade (John Leguizamo and an old shoe (Whoopi Goldberg)
I see 200 mill opening weekend with another 500 when the foreign markets come in.

much like fungal spores an umbrella can lay dormant for years and requires exacting factors of external stimulation to achieve reproduction. The processes by which an umbrella is rendered erect and ready for reproduction are many, however in general they require manual stimulation and manipulation of their shaft. For some umbrellas errection is easily achieved while for others the process is more complex. When an umbrella is ready to reproduce it may elongate significantly and it's reproductive organ flares into a broad appendage that has a dual purpose. First it encourages the continual stimulation of its shaft by providing portable shelter from the rain, and rain is vital for the umbrella to successfully spawn. Second the appendage spreads the procreative spew of the umbrella to shoes, which are to umbrellas as bees are to flowers, the vehicle where by umbrella spawn are spread across the world to begin the cycle again.
I put in for a grant to produce this as a PBS documentary and am hoping to get Attenborough to narrate

My guess is that this was scheduled for production after someone found out how cheap it is to have a face silk screened onto umbrellas
