ive never seen dexter, isnt the point that he kills murderers or something? seems a bit different than hannibal lecter pretending to help solve murders that he commits.
So, it looks like NBC's going to ignore all the movie continuity (thankfully, because that origin movie needs to be forgotten) and just start anew here, with Hannibal being a police consultant that nobody yet knows is actually the liver-eating murderer they're after.
There's a word for this. I think it begins with "Dex" and ends in "ter."

I didn't want this type of show but then again I didn't ask for a prequel to Psycho either.
Seeing as how this is a Bryan Fuller show, I fully expect it to be as proportionally short lived as it is good.
This movie is focusing on events before Red Dragon, events that haven't been chronicled. It's fair game...and it looks interesting enough.
Mental illness - the last great bastion for popularly accepted and grossly inaccurate stereotyping. I'm looking directly at Dexter. It would be very hard for this to be worse than that.
LYT! Dexter is gearing up to go off the air so it's generally acceptable to fill that niche with a similar show. Kinda like when House was announced to go off the air and ta-da we got Elementary
