If the Star Wars universe were like ours in any way, it would have its conspiracy nuts too.
For the Imperials, the thought that their Death Star could be taken down was as inconceivable as...well...9-11 appears to be in some oddball circles. In a pitch-perfect parody of paranoid documentaries, one filmmaker imagines how the OCD, hyper-sensitive denizens of that universe's alt-media might conspiratorially view the most seminal event in their galactic timeline.

Ironically plays along with the theory many fans have that Palpatine was secretly fueling the Rebelion to give an excuse for the Empire to assert so much control and build arms (not dreaming the Rebels would actually grow powerful enough to become a serious threat).
And ten to one, any Truthers who watch STILL won't get how they're being made fun of for their massive ignoring of reality.

I couldn't stop laughing at this... NOT ONLY does this look like every "Conspiracy" vid I've seen(And never believed) , but it keeps bringing up "Facts" that were NOT common knowledge at that time... If Darth KNEW ahead of time that Leia was his daughter, then why didn't he try to protect her the first time they met? Darth only knew about Leia being Luke's sister in ROTJ, and then only because Yoda had told Luke about "There is another" and Obi-Wans' spirit then told Luke that he had a twin sister, and Luke guessed, correctly, that it was Leia. And I have to add this... GREAT use of Star Wars footage. And the voice-over was perfect as well.

I did find amusing that they did things like mispronouncing planet names and quoting Wedge Antilles while having, Colin Higgins (called by many Star Wars Enthusiast as "Fake Wedge") was either a stroke of Genius or luck.

What I did like about this is that it addresses the biggest problem Lucas put in the films - EVERYONE KNOWS ANAKIN IS VADER! The evidence is a bunch of little things in conversations, but trust me it adds up to everyone knew, AND NO ONE TELLS LUKE! What a bunch of jerks.

@Gallen_Dugall Not true. Only the Emperor knows, no? I'm going by the movies only. I'm not sure how Obi-Wan know Vader = Anakin. Last he saw of him, he had killed him.

@bsg0 @Gallen_Dugall yup - just going by the movies the list of minor characters, who are actually important or unimportant people that know Vader is Anakin is in the triple digits - the entire 501st for starters

@Gallen_Dugall It's a fairly common trope unfortunately to give the opportunity for a later emotional scene. I am really glad it only happens to real Heroes since if it were me I would be going around to everyone who kept the secret and sticking my sabre somewhere the sun don't shine.

I suspect that the conspiracy types, and a fair number of the main stream types, would believe that the Death Star itself was the hoax. Something that big and that easy to destroy, why? I understand that half of it is laser and power supply, but then what the heck is in the rest of it? The hangers and living space can't take up that much room, and how could that much mass be processed and transported in secret? Don't even get me started on the copious bottomless pits installed in the thing. All rather implausible.
