Rosemary’s Baby Meets Reno: 911

I’ve always been a bit of a moderate on Tom Lennon and Ben Garant: never a fan of The State, but charmed by Balls of Fury and the Reno: 911 movie. For their new horror spoof, they’ve assembled a killer ensemble that includes Rob Corddry, Leslie Bibb, Keegan Michael Key (but no Peele?), Paul Scheer, Kumail Nanjiani and Riki Lindhome.
It may help this movie’s chances that a more serious take on this kind of material, Delivery, is coming out this year also. I caught it at LAFF – a found-footage film that documents a pregnancy going disturbingly, supernaturally wrong on reality TV. A mixed bag that appears to be saving some reveals for sequels the filmmakers apparently think are inevitable, it nonetheless has at least one killer moment you’ll never forget…or expect.
