The Walking Dead Will Get a Spin-Off Series

Would you like to know who’s in it? What it’s about? Sorry, but I don’t know any of that, apart from the fact that it will feature “an entirely new story and cast of characters”. AMC pretty much just announced its imminent existence, its same executive producers as the current show, and nothing else. That’s why I made the image above real big like, to distract you from the fact that you can get every bit of information you need to know from the headline alone.

That said, what would you want to see? I’m somewhat relieved that we’re not getting a prequel show about Michonne and the Governor in younger days, crossing each other’s paths constantly without realizing it. And the Dixon boys’ dad. Because, let’s face it, that’s how things roll these days. I could go for walkers in a tropical climate, all melty, humid and bug infested. But wait, I forgot – it’s not about the zombies, it’s about the characters, man! So more likely it’ll just be set somewhere that’s cheap to shoot, like the previously unmentioned metropolis of Soundstagia.

Now, if they happen to feature Rick’s long-lost cousin named Frank, who works at a nuclear power plant and meets an unfortunate demise, I will mark out like crazy. Then promptly hit the Internet to bemoan the use of in-jokes.
