Man, I knew The Purge was a runaway success, but I never expected National Geographic Channel to be the first on that particular bandwagon. American Blackout, airing this Sunday, imagines the U.S. in the wake of a massive cyber-attack that causes all the power to go out. Taking place over ten days, the TV movie is comprised of images shot by the affected people on their cameras and phones; it also includes "crowdsourced" footage shot during actual blackouts, and expert panelists describing how such an event might actually go down.
American Blackout airs Sunday at 9pm on NatGeo. We have an exclusive clip after the jump to give you an idea of the tone.
