What did you get this year?
Here's where the new uploading picture function comes into play. Show off what ya got.
A piece of my childhood. The boxed set of Fireball XL5. :-)
Ok! Had a great one this year. Super Nintendo, including batman returns, secret of mana, and bomberman. A 3d Bluray player, with pacific rim, dredd, and ninja turtles III. A ukulele. Howard the duck special edition DVD. And best of all, a new niece. She is a few months old, and I got her a big stuffed princess peach. for my 2 year old nephew, we got him a drum set, and he is so happy. I will share pictures later, but I only have my iPad on this trip and the mobile site doesn't seem to be working with the photo upload. I am using an gen1 though, so it may be on my end.
OK I am back from hiding for a few got a new monster grill a punisher and Autobot shirt a under armour camo hoodie last two seasons of naruto and the complete buffy series and some shorts. And amazon gift cards.
Just got the Hogan relic I threw a pic up of the other day and a Paul Rudd autograph card from a Secret Santa thing. Already had the Rudd but I mean Ant Man right? We just focused on getting our three year old some clothes and toys. Oh wait I did get a Hulk Hogan and Blues Brothers t shirts. Those rock.
Didn't get much this year. Just got a 'Dan Vs' DVD that I asked for.
The real haul comes in January during my birthday.
I mentioned this earlier, but these are pretty much the main presents I got, including a PS4 that my mom apparently went out at 5:30 AM to get at Target, god bless her. The haul includes:
- A PS4
- Pacific Rim Special Two-Disc Edition DVD
- The Art of Rube Goldberg
- To Be Or Not To Be by Ryan North
- Mystery Science Theater 3000 25th Anniversary Collection
- Capcom 30th Anniversary Character Encyclopedia
- Cracked's The De-Textbook
- An official Christmas Vacation Clark Griswold Moose Mug
...Also, I got about $175 in Cineplex gift cards & a Cineplex from various relatives (yes, I should mention the large amount of relatives). And while I love them, I honestly wouldn't mind reminding that I also play video games as well, & that EB Games & Steam gift cards exist as well...
Oh, & my mom got me a $100 President's Choice gift card as well. Which was obviously intended for groceries, but will probably end up getting spent on $100 worth of other gift cards to put towards a Wii U & complete the trinity...^^;
I got a suit made and an oxblood wool trenchcoat for myself (I don't celebrate xmas but did give away presents to my friends as more of an ambigous holiday gift)
This was late but I just delivered this space eel painting to my friend fred:
This guy! And also the Amecomi Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy Xmas pack.
Well, I've said it before, might as well again, I got a nintendo 3DsXL (I'm having at leas one of you add me to your friends list...), and electric razor, and a violin that I've only figured out how to do a dramatic tense sound.I also bought for myself, and kept from opening, A Grimlock from the transfromers games, and Surfs up Batman
Red Skull from Sideshow collectibles. Perfect addition to my evil study.
I got the Lego Ewok Village. Which is totally awesome and far and away the most fun I've had assembling a Star Wars set, as they tend towards repetitive directions. (I love the Death Star but I HATED assembling it by the end) ... and apart from a couple of chocolate candies, that's all I got.
Got this cutie, as well as a duplicate of Godzilla vs Biollante on DVD- my parents forgot they had got it for my graduation only six months ago. Ha!
I got some penicillin, and some soothing cream for my oh wait T.M.I
that and a Force FX Lightsaber.
Christmas brought both relief and pleasure!
a shelving unit, bit shit you say? after having to move house at short notice and with out any furniture i can now get my transformer collection out of storage!
This is the first year I've tried to avoid asking for movies or video games for Christmas, and instead tried to focus on things for work or my house. In the end, I got a SodaStream maker, a hand blender, shirts, jeans, a new zip-up hoodie, steak knives, a Buffalo Wild Wings gift card, and a "365 Stupidest Things Ever Said" calendar.
Ugh. Screw you, adulthood.
Nothing outside of a six pack of cider I bought for myself..which my buddy took half.
I will be having Christmas later today. Can't wait to brag!
I desperately want to photograph that bigass Batman, as well as Tonto. You're a bastard.
Meanwhile, if it was 1996 you'd all be seething with jealousy, 'cause I got Total Chaos Series 2, bitches!
I got a jury summons out of my mail box yesterday. Nice of them to think of me at the holiday.
Shaun of the Dead, Hulk Vs, The Walking Dead season 2 & 3, The Cabin in the Woods all on Blu-Ray, A new custom Punisher charging handle for one of my AR15's, an AR15 gunsmith mat, zombie targets, An Avengers cocoa set, Some Steelers merch, A complete photo history guide to pistols and rifles, The Walking Dead: Fall of the Governor pt1 book, ammo, Bass Pro gift card and a Wal-Mart gift card.
I got a Stuffed Pony and a Goddamned Batman... from Relatives.My Christmas present in the shape of Blue skinned Ancient Attention Whore has not arrived... Neither has my normal Matty sub... fucking Digital River!UPDATE: Also got ALF Season 1 on DVD from the Secret Santa...
I got some very expensive plane tickets to see my brother and his family and some assorted clothes + Christmas cash.
I buy my own toys, so just getting time with family was more than enough.
As far as toys go: that tablet I picked up last month + new cell phones for me and the wife (refurbished S2 for me & a new S3 for her) and the "Seekers Edition" of FFXI.
Pretty light materialisticly, but that is A-OK.
@SlyDante777my main concern is on the shelf
near the corner
the representation of Bast
you do understand that such representations act as a doorway for herself
@SlyDante777 Pacific Rim! I didn't even ask for it, but I guess my parents got the hint from the way I haven't shut up about it since August.
@alijafferythehunkThat is AWESOME.
@alijafferythehunk Very nice work.
@Timely-Tardis-Lego That is a GREAT idea for the figure stand. Thanks for that - I'll probably do the same, tho' with Mattel's clunkier flight stand.
@kraken oh my god, the stormtrooper helmet drums. Not even a big Star Wars fan, and that made me laugh.
@AGF This is why I hate Adulthood as well. Last year I got two buckets of paint, roller and a Shark steam Mop... I'd rather have childish gifts...
@montewilliams if it were '96 I'd have hair
@Patch999 I've been summoned twice the same year which they told me wasn't supposed to happen. Never called, just sat in a room for hours with other people and wished I had the skills to try to pick up the women there. Instead, just magazines and listening to other people's irritating conversations. Why is there always a girl under thirty who has to talk about her overseas vacations/studies?
Also, you get paid...just enough to cover the cost of the parking garage since there's no free parking because it's a college town that hates the internal combustion engine and outsiders (except loaded college students).
All reasons never to register to vote. It not like your vote matters, there's a whole system designed to prevent that.
I was close for jury duty on a third strike robbery case. Luckily I wasn't called to actually serve.
@Patch999 I've never had Jury duty...
@Patch999 What's your preference? Murder trial or disputed traffic incident?
@FakeAssName I ordered the new Lg G2 for myself. The employee rewards site had it for $99 on December 23 so I snapped it up. It ought to show up on Monday or Tuesday.
@Gallen_Dugall@SlyDante777 Hence why I placed Batman next to Bast. If s*** goes down, he'll handle it.
@LYT@kraken thank you, thank you!
@LYT @Timely-Tardis-Lego I got this when it was for 15 dollars. It was good, came with alternate hands to hold stuff, and enough parts for 3 bases
@Gallen_Dugall @montewilliams Me too, come to think of it.
@Brawniac I can honestly say I enjoyed serving on both juries I was selected for.
Your right, it doesn't pay, and usually you lose money because you can't work. Both of mine went on for over a week. At the end of the experiences, I felt that while not perfect, it does work.
I had my own "12 Angry Men" moment, where myself and one lady were hold outs in sentencing. We were able to swing the others to our side, for a more lenient sentence. There were still death threats against us and they locked everyone in the court house while we were released. When I got out, I realized I had locked my keys in the car and got the stink eye from the his family and friends exiting. They will never know how close their son came to never getting out of prison.
On the second I voiced my opinion on settlement, that we had a responsibility to be fair to both sides.
I was able to steer them away from a "Mcdonalds Hot Coffee" thirty million settlement, and came up with the a fair percentage to those harmed, that was still more than most will ever see in their lifetime, 4 million range. It didn't bankrupt, the company at fault, who had tired to make it right, before lawyers got involved.
I don't know if I'll ever be selected to sit on a jury again, but If I do I'll be happy to do it, and probably piss off anyone who doesn't agree with me.
@James.k.Polk@Patch999 I was called in for the dentist who kept murdering his wives for the insurance
fortunately someone who he conned into helping him cover up one of the murders came forward and it never went to trial
@James.k.Polk@Patch999 when i was a juror the trial was about a guy who crammed crack up his crack!
@James.k.Polk @Patch999 I have been called twice and selected both time. I'm must have a "group of your peers" look about me.
I got my S2 for $150, which (imo) is exactly what all these phones should be costing.
I was a little worried about buying refurbished, mostly because I work in refurbishment and know full damn well how many corners get cut, but what showed up was near mint condition.
@SlyDante777 probably has some crazy Bat-Catnip in his utility belt
@LYT @Timely-Tardis-Lego Woops, forgot the linkhttp://www.amazon.com/Bandai-Tamashii-Stage-Act-4-Humanoid/dp/B003AH6EVY/ref=pd_sim_t_5/191-2102032-7153563
@DrAbraxas @James.k.Polk @Patch999 Seriously the defense attorney did a bad job. If they'd have uncovered your Topless Robot comments history you'd have either been disqualified for the trial or elevated to the honorary post of Grand Inquisitor.
@Patch999@James.k.PolkI've been permanently barred as a juror
@FakeAssName When my G2 arrives I intend to put my S3 up for sale on eBay. It's in as close to like-new condition as you can get. I expect to get around $200 for it.
Hell I sold a non-functional one for $100 just because the guy needed the LCD/touch screen.
