Death, be not proud...be green with envy.
I had been waiting for Summer Glau to go evil since she was introduced.
Blood better watch his mouth. He thinks he's way more important than he is and I suspect the only reason he survived getting in Slade's face like that is because Slade was distracted.
David Nykl is KGBeast? I didn't know that. But then I'm not as familiar with DC's characters as I am Marvel's so I guess I missed the name.
As for how Slade knows Malcolm is Thea's father. I think there are a couple of possibilities. He could be involved with the League and it seems to me there isn't much Ra's doesn't know. Or else he did a search and figured stuff out like Felicity did.
I like Arrow, but this couple of episodes every few weeks is getting REALLY annoying.
So was that supposed to be Shado standing behind Wilson and smiling
while he ranted? I got a bit confused there with the appearing
disappearing character and what it was supposed to represent.
Really enjoyed the episode, agree with what most people said before me, just want to bring up thatis pretty easy for brother blood to say that thea's kidnapping was a fake, since no kidnapper would simply let thekidnappee walk away, pointing that slade wilson had allibys, and that not even the police felt like it was him, so it could besomeone framed. With that showing that theopponent was afraud, getting more votes them before since oliver's mom cheated for simpaty votes, and even clearing the public image of slade wilson.and probably they can bring up some convincingfake evidenceaspart of it as well.
Great episode. Possibly the best of the series so far.Yay Diggle, Felicity and Roy getting stuff to do! Shame Ollie was a little late in remembering he had a team backing him up.
Some glorious fake-outs that honestly surprised me, especially which of Ollie's secrets Slade was revealing to who. One question - how did Slade find out about Thea's real dad? I don't doubt he couldn't find out - I just want to know the how of it.Roy... man, this was the first episode where Colton Hayes REALLY acted like Roy in the comics - i.e. sarcastic and blunt.Manu Bennett continues to be awesome incarnate. The best part of the show? Thematically, they've brought a classic theme from the comics into play - the idea that Oliver is his own greatest enemy. You can all read my Arrow Episode Guide entry for this episode at: http://www.mygeekygeekyways.com/2014/04/arrow-episode-guide-season-2-episode-18.html
David Nykl is delightful as KGBeast though it's odd that he's managed to avoid the eye-gouging & unhanding that's been going around.
I'm disappointed that Sebastian Blood is losing voter appeal.
I applauded when Isabel told Ollie she was given control of his company & jump kicked him in the face.
Slade swimming off the island was an elegant solution. Did he get his alias from a variant of the backstroke he created? It's refreshing to have a supervillain who's not ashamed of a costume & codename these days.
Green Arrow fighting a bunch of canon fodder thugs was more exciting than anything that's happened on Agents of SHIELD all season. I don't understand how we live in a world where that sentence is possible.
Deathstroke...Deathlok...Lotsa death goin around.
And now for something completely different.......Watch as a single person devours the D-Bat Dog-----A 18" Corn Dog stuffed with Cheese, Bacon, and Jalapenos served with a big-ass side o' fries.......Available only at Chase Field Ballpark in Phoenix, AZ for a price of 25 bucks.............PLAY BALL!!!
So is it safe to say that Summer Glau is playing Rose Wilson?
@kirkbwriter The DA also had a file about it so maybe Slade nabbed it while he was getting the death report of Sebastian's dad.
@Gallen_Dugall A twisted vision of Shado, which Slade has carried with him since the island. It's what I'm going with. His mirakuru-addled brain seems to think Shado would want him to do everything he has been doing to ruin Oliver's life.
@Gallen_Dugall It was her, and she represents Slades insanity.
@starmanmatt Why don't you get your own forum and stop advertising here?
@EvilMonkeyPope Sounded to me like "Deathstroke" was ARGUS' codename for him; he just happens to like it now that he's heard it.
@y2jbrak Now we need a crossover event where Deathlok and Deathstroke have to fight t the death to see which one eyed super soldier is superior.
@arivalscientist you could take this to the open thread - either the haunted one or wait till friday
@scockery Yes, that would be BullPlop... if that were what happened.1. When Lance is being arrested for refusing to turn over The Arrow, he protests saying that he arrested the right guy.2. In the final scene at Laurel's apartment, she is watching the news before Slade knocks on the door. The reporter talks about how Thea Queen identified Slade Wilson as her kidnapper and how Lt. Pike (i.e. the cop who has it out for Lance) has said he is still confident in the department despite what seems like a fairly major screw up. 3. Re: Screw Tommy's memory - I'm pretty sure Ollie made some killing shots when he was fighting Slade's men in the warehouse he thought Thea was at.4. Ollie was in his civies when he confronted Rochev. Granting Ollie has been kind of an idiot lately, even he is smart enough to realize that he can't strangle Rochev in his own boardroom after storming in angrily and not expect the generally incompetent SCPD to put two and two together.
@scockery I'm pretty sure that they did mention that Thea dropped a dime on Slade.
@Paul_S U MAD ARRO'?
@CapWolf You may be on to something, actually...
Nope. She's playing Isabel Rochev, a character from the new 52 who is the CEO of Queen Industries, and was obsessed with Oliver's father. Oh and she also wants to kill Oliver.
@poisonshadow @Gallen_Dugall That's no hallucination. She's an Angel sent from the Lords of Kobol to help Slade lead humanity to its destiny.
@smdrpepper I want a hot chick to represent my insanity, I'm so jealous. My insanity is represented by a farting wombat in clown make up.
I just meant that she's using the name Isabel Rochev as an alias. But I suppose it would be a longshot considering she's been doing the corporate thing long enough to have a reputation.
@youcanbeagoodjournal I've been coming to Topless Robot since the very beginning. Rob promoted my website more than a few times and never had any problem with me linking to things in the past so long as it was relevant to the conversation. If I were only coming here to post a link to my blog, you'd have a point but I do come here, take part in the discussions and contribute to the conversation with insights that aren't a part of my blog posts. If Luke has an issue with it, I'll stop. But I don't think anyone else has any right to tell me what I can or cannot post here.
@starmanmatt @GetYourOwnForum I like your insights, and your blog is nifty, but to advertise here every week really cheapens it. I don't comment a lot, actually, probably only twice when LYT spoiled something for me inadvertently. And even then I'm not rude. But, I had to comment today, as I did find your advertising and response unprofessional in the past and present. Seems very rude, it bothers me as your only purpose here is to advertise.
@BumblebeeZ3 If they go with the origin in the comics, she had an affair with Robert Queen and became obsessed with taking everything that was his. They've been dropping plenty of hints that's the case. Including that "sins of the father" line last night, there's been quite a bit of heat between Isabel and Moira when they were in a scene together. And it would be the height of irony that the one thing Moira DIDN'T lie about was her husband cheating on her...
@BumblebeeZ3 Hopefully she goes coat shopping.
@morey13 for a split second I thought, wait, is there a chance she is Ollie's illegitimate half-sister? Then I remembered what they did and put that thought out of my mind. Really curious what her deal is now.
I guess it could be Rose if they wanted it to be, but the name she's using is also a character from Green Arrow who in the books happens to be obsessed with Ollie's Dad and want to kill Ollie. What she says to him during the fight makes it seem likely they're going to go that way with it. "The sins of the father..."
