Dynamite to do Steampunk Battlestar Galactica Comics

steampunkgalactica.jpg

it’s not often you see a licensed property like this get such an Elseworlds-style makeover, so kudos to whoever currently holds the rights to Battlestar Galactica for allowing the creation of a new continuity, written by Tony Lee, in which “Professor Baltar’s clockwork Cylonics destroy the Colonial Empire [and]Arch Duke Adama learns that his son Apollo is missing! It’s up to Lady Athena to travel to the Sky Pirate world of the Rising Star and ask for help from the only hope she has – the disgraced Captain Starbuck and his humanoid/Daggit copilot Muffit…”

Oh yeah, this may be the catch – references to a male Starbuck, Muffit and Baltar’s computer sidekick “Lu-C-Fer” would imply strongly that this is based on the ’70s Galactica characters, rather than the rebooted ones most contemporary viewers know and love more. But it will undoubtedly please fans of both if it can do what neither TV series did – come up with a good ending! Consider that chrome gauntlet thrown down, Dynamite – by our command.

This sounds promising, though:
