Well, this is interesting. The CW is looking to expand its superhero universe in cartoons now as well. Vixen – who presumably is getting an animated show rather than live-action because magic animal powers are expensive to do with any kind of believability – will exist in continuity with both Flash and Arrow, presumably minus the killing and sex parts.

I’m not that familiar with Vixen, but here’s the CW description:

Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe’s parents were killed by local greed, corruption, and wanton violence. But the orphaned Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inhereting her family’s Tantu Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals — anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from the threats like those that claimed her family

Reminds me a little of another hero of color from my own childhood.

Sadly, I’m gonna bet you don’t see any Vixen action figures, because TV people still think cartoon-watching girls have cooties.
