VGA Trifecta II: Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, Prototype 2

? It’s yet another Portal 2 video of the two ‘bots you play in co-op mode. I’m actually getting a little annoyed, but only because I want to play Portal 2 so bad. I don’t know how much time it takes to make these videos, but I’d be fine if Valve chose to not make them and released the goddamn game a few days earlier.

? You guys know how I feel about Mortal Kombat, but this is definitely the most interesting trailer for the game released so far, even though it’s ostenibly made just to announce that God of War‘s Kratos will be a playable character in the game. I don’t care about God of War either, but I am confused as to how this will work — Mortal Kombat is very much a multiplatform game, and God of War is very much a Sony-owned character. Will Sony allow Kratos in the Xbox 360 game? If Sony allows it, will Microsoft? Or willl there be an Xbox equivalent exclusive character?

? I know Prototype wasn’t the best game ever, but it was a pretty damned fun one — being able to hijack helicopters in mid-air, decapitating 50 people at a time with your weird tentacle arm and my favorite, the eating people to get their memories side quest was a strangely satisfying gameplay experience. So I’m really looking forward to the improvements of Prototype 2, even if that just means you can wrap multiple cars around your foes.
