Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Just Casually Killed off a Major Character in Comics

dead_tmnt.jpg

If a major character dies in a comic, and the publisher doesn’t start making a big deal about it two months in advance, does it make a sound?

Ideally, yes. This is how major deaths should be – genuinely shocking developments that take the reader by surprise, not long-hyped events that you know are just gonna be retconned in a few months. I admit, I’ll be surprised if this one is permanent too, but in the comic itself, the characters make it pretty clear. Via IGN:

when the Turtles returned from their mission, Angel Bridge confirms he is indeed gone when she says “I swear, we tried to help him, Leo. But… But it was too late.”

I think Jonathan Liebesman’s assistants on the last movie said the same thing to moviegoers, or should have anyway.

If you want to know who bought it, look below.
