I was asked on the last podcast if I prefer superhero movies or sci-fi movies, and it slipped my mind in the moment that one of my very favorite movies ever is BOTH. Flash Gordon may be “just a man, with a man’s courage,” but he’s no less a superhero than Batman, and Ming is certainly a super-villain.

Star Sam J. Jones, whose entire dialogue was redubbed by another actor, rarely worked again, and this is documentary will take a look at why – the new teaser, following up on one that went online in March, hints at telling more of the story as to why Jones is seen but not heard in his most iconic role.

I already have an autograph and photo with Mr. Jones – that Mister Jones and me, we tell each other fairy tales, like how he’s going to be in a Flash Gordon sequel – but I look forward to seeing what the Kickstarter rewards will be. It goes live on June 25th.
