Tekken’s Intro Movie Is Finished, The Game…Not so Much
Which pretty much sums up Tekken for me. Yes, Bandai Namco has created an insane, two-minute long intro movie of Jin Whatever driving around Tokyo on a motorcycle, dodging rockets, evil people in helicopters and other nonsense, but the game–what with its gameplay–won’t be ready until late 2009. Bandai Namco’s clearly got their priorities set, although as a staunch Soul Calibur man, I’ve always felt the best part of Tekken has been the movies, because it sure as hell wasn’t the button-mashing, 2.5-D gameplay.
