This is Thinkgeek's April Fool's Day prank -- the Tauntaun sleeping bag. Please note the inside lining, which features a pattern resembling the tauntaun's intestines, as well as the zipper which features a little blue lightsaber for you to "cut" the sleeping bag open and crawl inside.
Normally, I hate April Fool's Day because I don't know what to trust, and I get enough things wrong on TR without people going out of their way to trick me. But this? This makes me furious because it's the best goddamn idea ever, and just it's some dumb joke.
I need this sleeping bag. Everyone needs this sleeping bag. Thinkgeek, I'm calling upon you to do the right thing and call Lucasfilm and make it happen. By virtue of the several dozen tip emails I received about it, I know there's a lot of people who would buy it, were it to actually exist. Because until you do, you aren't being funny. You're just bastards who are taunting us with the greatest piece of Star Wars merchandise we'll never own.

That is the coolest thing I have ever seen. I would pay big money for something that rad.
April Fools truly is the most useless and evil holiday around.

Hmm, not sure how I would do that lining but other than that it looks pretty simple to make. Maybe I should try my hand at it and auction it off to the highest TR reader, buwahahaha.

I was totally taken in by this, and I agree with you, Rob.
Whenever Wizard would do their fake comic news in their April issues, it would always be a book I would kill someone to own. Like when they said Geoff Johns was bringing back Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew. Of course, that actually happened later, but it connected to Infinite Crisis, which somehow negates it.

Last year they did the Personal Theme Song Shirt, which you can now buy here: http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/interactive/a5bf/
So maybe they will do the same with this sleeping bag.

Actually, it doesn't look like it'd be all that difficult to make.
That is, until George Lucas got wind of it and sent out his copyright hit squad.

I'd buy 5 of these if they really existed. I'd give the extras to my SW-obsessed nephews. It'd make for some bizarre imagery on family camping trips.

O my God, I'm so full of hate for myself now. I sent this tip along to TR because a freind showed it to me, and I thought it was most awesome. I never clicked on BUY NOW button and didn't even realize it was fake until you posted it here. I'M SO SORRY ROB AND TR READERS! I am so angry and stupid. I just April Fool'd all over myself.

Also @CaptainLoquacious: DC Direct is making a set of all of the multi-colored rings with a display case that's coming out this fall. You can see pics on their website.

So, as some of you have noticed, we are going to TRY to make this into a real product, since every single person on the interwebs demanded it. Our ears aren't deaf to your pleas, we just have to find out if the bigwigs at Lucasfilms will grant us a license. Also, if/when we can make it, we really have no idea how much it would retail for, but I'm sure we'll figure that out at some point along the way.
So head over to the product page (http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/tauntaun.html), and click on the "Email me IF available link", and we'll do just that.
