There goes my last hope that Heroes will be worth watching next season (granted, I will still give it a chance out of some long abused and damaged sense of loyalty to the first season).

I think if they want to save the show they shold just reboot it. Whole new cast and plot line and have the season be another set of origin stories. No plot baggage/crutch and maybe a chance for whatever room full of monkeys is banging on type writers to be original and creative.

i thot he was contracted to write all of next season...maybe i only imagined that. bummer. he would have been my hero if he stuck it out and turned the show around. he could've even dared to write an entirely new staff of characters into the show and i would've given it another look.

not trying to sound snarky about it, but are they really expecting decent ratings without a fundamental change in their writing staff?

No worries, Heroes fans. NBC will pull strings so that whatever network he goes to, they'll screw up and cancel whatever he goes to work on just to get him back again.

If we're lucky, it'll be Smallville. As screwed up as it is, the network won't have to try as hard.

I'm curious - why has this turd bomb lasted FOUR seasons? Who has pictures of whom getting it on with an underaged gold fish?

I stopped watching at the beginning of season 3, because the characters became stoopid and the story ripped off The Fly (Mohinder's transformation) and The 4400 (superpower juice freshly squeezed from superhumans). Hiro went from being the best hero to the stooopidest.

To put the cherry on the shit sundae, the "big fight" in the season 3 finale happened BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, and the story ripped off the "bad guy (Proteus) is brainwashed into thinking he is a good guy (Morph)" from Exiles. When a show starts ripping off ancillary X-books, it's time to pack the bags and go home.

WTF?! Why is this show still on the air, but quality like Pushing Daises and Firefly get their asses booted without a second thought.

At this point, I'm convinced Smallville will be on forever. If it's been on this long - and having driven most of the decent actors who've ever been on the show (like Glover and Rosenbaum) away - you can't kill it. 40-year-old single women and teenage girls will always tune in to ogle Tom Welling, I guess.

@edgreen86- Tim Kring slipped GHB into NBC CEO Jeff Zucker's coffee, then videotaped Zucker starring in a Tijuana donkey show. Anytime NBC tries to cancel Heroes, Kring calls Zucker and threatens to show everyone his guest appearance on "Hee-Haw".

Fuck.

The worst part is NBC is pracitcally handing him other projects left and right, in an apparent effort to do just this, make him far too busy for Heroes.

Seems they never made his title official and because of that with him writting, creating, or showrunning several projects he couldn't work on Heroes anymore.

NBC seems to want it deader than dead...

Thank God. I was worried I'd have another show I'd have to find time to watch.

I look forward to his next quirky series which will be canceled far before the story was really told. I really miss wonderfalls.

Thank god. This will speed up the demise of Heroes. It just can't be saved at this point.

I can't say I blame him. Though apparently he's mapped out how season 4 is supposed to go, so if they hire someone who can follow instructions it should be at least watchable and perhaps even get some kind of conclusion.
And then pray they put it out of it's misery.

Side note: For as horrendous as most of season 3 was, that episode with Sylar and Danko raising hell at that swanky gay bar was a favourite of mine.

Oh, and they sure as hell better get Zachary Quinto in there quick as they can. I know quite a few new female fans (via Star Trek) who are willing to put up with it for him and have suffered through rapid viewings of the rest of Heroes to catch up.
And quite frankly ever since they screwed Hiro's character all to hell, disposed of an possibility of an interesting plot line with Nathan, and I won't even mention Mohinder...Sylar's pretty much all I'm watching for as well.

in all honesty I am not that upset about Fuller bailing out, I mean he is a great writer and made season one awesome and pushing dasies is one of the best shows I have watched but I don't think he knows what to do about Heroes and would end up just messing it up worse, if nothing else his obsession with Ali Later (or whatever her name is) won't be a big issue so we won't have to deal with her millions of clones and all that mess he was talking about bringing in.

Really to make the show good again is to make it simple, no triplets, no time travel (or very very very very very little) Let Peter have his real powers back and the set up with the whole sylar/nathen thing could be really good, even to the point where they accidently let the secret out by thinking that sylar is going on killing sprees at night but it is actually some new guy who is a psycopath. I mean Heroes is a pretty simple fix, and I did not see Fuller fixing it, getting rid of Lobe is a start but I see this season fixing a few problems if not a good deal of them.

hell if nothing else give Peter and Hiro their full powers back and have the whole Sylar.Nathen thing fall apart in the first two episodes and then go along like the last 2 years never happened would be fine with me

also Fuller is staying on as a producer, so at least if you fear that him not being there will make the show a steaming pile, he will still have some input

guess Bryan feels that Heros even if he only producing and consulting after last season is a lost cause time to get out of dodge and let it die without him to witness it . and maybe work on finaly having a show that does not get canceled after one or two seassons
