Of course, we all know that girls don't read comics -- I'm pretty sure there's a law to that effect. She must have wandered in accidentally or was buying something for her boyfriend, AS THERE IS NO OTHER EXPLANATION. The group is called Tripod and they're Australian -- I don't really know what their deal is, but their logo is based on the TSR logo, which makes them both nerdy as shit and awesome in my book.

Yeah... I love the local comic store, and every summer I ask if they're hiring. Every year the manager looks at me funny and says, "no." I'm not sure if they just have no turnover rate to speak of, or if he just isn't sure what to do with a girl in his store. ^_^
Still not as bad as the time I went into the gaming store to pick out dice and the clerk followed me around the store the whole time with a look on his face like he'd spotted a unicorn.

It always seems to amaze guys... yes, geeks of the female persuasion exist too! Even worse than if they see you looking at comics or roleplaying stuff, though, is if they see you playing an MMO or fixing a computer.

If the reactions of guys in comic book shops and Games workshop (Warhammer 40K) are anything to go by when I visit with my girlfriend (All eyes are on her, I could be on fire and no one would notice), I think Scortia will have some admirers quite soon. >:-)

This song, as with Tripod, has been round for far longer than FotC. There was an Aussie sketch show called Skithouse back around 2001-2002 which had Tripod in it, among other Australian comedians. They'd perform a song at the end of each show, which was almost invariably nerdy (As with their sketches), and this was on that. This is before the FotC concept would have even been thought of.
