Personally I have love for both Macross and Robotech. Well maybe a little more Robotech than Macross.

And that is a very cool helmet. I'm sure I would wear it if I were a pilot, or when I went bike riding.

460 bucks for a helmet that's probably not DOT approved or have some sort of european certs...though, might be totally worth it.

I really wish they would have partnered with a company like Arai or someone reputable cause ive seen the base models of these helmets and they are garbage plain and simple.
They are no better then the junk HJC puts out and if youre not in the know HJC is the crappiest of the crappy.

I hate to burst the bubble on this, but all that is, is a motorcycle helmet painted up in a Macross style and doesn't even come close to the helmet design in the show. Its certainly not worth the 460 clams they want for it.

I like the idea and have no problem paying $460 for a good helmet (my head is worth at least twice that), but would want to know if it's a quality lid.

Shit YEAH I'd believe it. I JUST watched the Masters for the first time, and it was pretty fucking despicable, and while I've not seen Southern Cross, the elements that I enjoyed the most in the story were the ones I could tell had been added for the Robotech version.

Hey call it what ever you want the more people that buy it the more Yamamto will produce better Macross merchandise. Since that is what you really want anyways. It's win win!!! Unless, you are the international rights holder to Macross.

It'll probably stick out like a sore thumb, but I would still love to have that helmet when I finally get my Harley! At the very least, I'll be standing out from the rest of the guys who'd be wearing the Nazi helmets and other stuff like that. :)

But yeah, now that I think of it, I also agree with the others who say that a Mospeada/New Generation Cyclone helmet would be even cooler.

I really considered having a helmet painted similar to that when I got my first motorcycle. Instead I rode around with this for a year (http://www.padwick.net/image/newhelmet.jpg) before deciding I didn't like having a modular helmet and trading up to a full-face.
