• Can you imagine a children's film being released today which features a close-up of a chicken's head being cut off, and insect/reptile carnage? That giant millipede crawling over a person's upper lip traumatized me as a kid, with no pause given for recovery before the chicken was murdered... agh. I loved the film as a child, but it did leave me with nightmares.

• I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought some of that sounded like German. THat's always been my favorite part of the movie, I even sing along with Wonka's little ditty. Never saw what was so scary about it, and I'm a guy who never goes anywhere near horror movies or anything like that.
