• That's gotta be one of my favorite cheesy early sci-fi movies, right up there with War of the Worlds and Forbidden Planet. I'm pumped.

• seeing Eddie packing heat is proably the only reason to give the remake a try that and for once some studioe did not do a remake of cheesy classic. but mostly the though of seeing Eddie gunning down stuff or trifids is worth checking out the remake.

• i caught him in Amsterdam last month. he was awesome as usual. but he really kinda lost the plot after the intermission. but still... fuck&yes it is eddie fucking izzard.

• My memory is shot these days but I'd swear the BBC already did a miniseries on DofT. I seem to recall it focus more on the human survivors (gangs of sighted bikers preying on the blind) with the Triffids almost an afterthought. Does this ring any bells with you other nerds?

• The only way that picture would be cooler would be if Brian Blessed was holding the shotgun.

• The original movie's meteor effects were way more fun, but the idea that an aurora turns into a solar flare that blinds everyone makes SO much sense- it's incredible that a modern filmmaker actually ADDED science to a story and improved it!

• Typical BBC... never giving a release date when they show something awesome.

• What a great book.

• I didn't think Eddie Izzard could be more awesome, but here he is, doing it.

• The awesomeness of that picture overshadows any actual quality this miniseries may or may not have.

• I'll say this much about Eddie: the bastard sure knows how to accessorize an outfit.

• It would only be cooler if he was wearing a pair of stylish pumps at the same time.

• Oh, man, that looks so flippin' amazing! Eddie Izzard was pretty much my favorite part of "Valkyrie." He totally made up for Tom Cruise's terrible accent.
