Just. Fucking. Brilliant. In all honesty, this covers the exact same themes of the nature life in the face of technology as the original Mamoru Oshii-directed movie, and is about 9000% more coherent. And that's with all the sirens and screaming. Much thanks to my sister-in-arms Liz over at LA Weekly for the tip.

loved how the robot at the end finaly gets tired of section nine arguing about what it would be like to have robot bodies and then goes nuts. plus they all talk about the laws of robotics not to mention armakie showing his crush on andrian baboo

Go with the GitS: Stand Alone Complex series over the movie. It has more time to make sense. ;-)
More importantly, can anyone ID the music over the end credits? It sounds like a choral version of the strings theme from Platoon.

I always thought that half the fun of GitS was staring in dumbfounded confusion at the rapidfire tech jargon. Hilarious and life-affirming though this may be, I'll still take the overloaded original.
Still, GitS could have been so much fun with chainsaw hands.

Epic Win. I'd put my brain in a robot body right now if it meant more Sea Lab (sigh).
Now I'm waiting for a mash up of Ninja Scroll and Harvey Birdman: Attorney at law.

This made my week.
Madness Monk: The music is Barber's Adagio for Strings Op. 11 (and yes, it is in Platoon.) :)

Thank you Toden; I had been wondering about the music myself.

Baltimoron replied to Toden:
The music is sort of Barber's Adiago. You'll notice the total lack of strings. It's an a capella rendition of the Agnus Dei portion of the Liturgy set to the tune of Barber's Adiago. The standard arrangement of the piece has no vocal portion.
Cambridge's Trinity College Choir arranged and recorded the version used in the video. It shouldn't be too hard to find online and it's also available on a CD compilation of various arrangements of the piece. The CD also features a really great chamber version.

Classic. I miss Sealab, and I miss Harry Goz, the show just wasn't as fun after the great man passed. There's just nothing that ever comes close to the insane hilarity of that show, especially my personal faves: The one used for the above clip, the one where Murphy gets stuck under the vending machine and gets into a horrible relationship with a scorpion(Which ends tragically after a duel with a robot), and the totally insane dream episode. Special mention for the end credits sequence(I think from the ep used above), where Harry Goz' outtakes of him reading the line "There go my nipples again" in a variety of different ways on demand from the other side of the booth. Awesome.
