The new Queen of the Nerds has been found. She didn't pull a sword out of a stone, but she does:
• Balance 15 books on her head
• Solve a rubik's cube
• Recite pi to the 100th digit
• Simultaneously
Much more impressive than stupid lame sword-pulling, if you ask me. Thanks to Mike S. for the tip.

The funniest thing is posting this in order to impress nerds, then getting ripped for supposedly cheating, then being defended with equally dubious arguments... who the frak would want to be our queen? If she had dressed as a Pokemon or Batgirl she would have had me at hello.
-
Definitely in the spectrum.
-
Actually it is. :-B
-
Even if she didn't really solve the cube or balance the books or memorize pi (although given the cadence of her recitation, it felt like a mnemonic to me, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt there)... But even IF she "cheated" on all of those things, the fact that she would even conceive of and execute this video is enough to secure "nerd for life" status. Kudos, young miss. (Just realized Luke posted essentially the same position just above me. Oh well, consider this an additional vote in her favor.)
-
Even if she rigged it all (which I doubt), then that's still impressive. Because either she planned it to take 42 seconds, which is a kind of subtle genius, or it happened that way by providence or chance (which could be interpreted as a sign). Plus, she's cute. So, yeah, long live the queen.
-
We're gonna need more info on her. For stalking purposes.
-
In about 6 hours the viewcount went from 33000 to just under 60000. The Wo-Monarch just got the Bricken Bump.
-
If you know how to solve one it looks exactly like what she is doing. Youtube a tutorial on how to do rubix cubes and you will see what I mean.
-
First of all, she's looking down most of the time, so unless she's got it scribbled on her fingers, she's likely got it memorized. Second of all, why is everyone trying to shoot her down? If the Guinness World Record for reciting digits of pi is 67,890, then I'm inclined to believe that someone can memorize and recite 100 digits with some effort.
-
Why is my hand sticky?
-
I would be pleased to take this girl out for dinner and a movie. What a woman!
-
I love her.
-
the Baroque cycle was published as 3 phat ass books here in the UK (thats why us Brits have such massive thumbs,so we can hold the bloody books open when reading), so by my count you are 5 short. Suggest you include the Silmarillion,The Hobbit,Fellowship of the Ring, the Two Towers and Return of the King.
-
Her gyrating while she balances those books makes me happy.
-
the baroque cycle is on my reading list, but it get deprioritized. Generation A is up after Julian Comstock the tale of 22nd century america.
-
damn it, she just made me consider voting her in over Felicia Day for nerd queen.
-
I'm apathetic until she can do all of that PLUS win on turn 0(MTG ftw)
-
I was just about to say that!
-
least sexy thing ever.
-
Their is a comment on youtube down below, i truly want to believe in, check this out: "She actually does the book thing all the time, she'll walk around like that, the Rubix cube was solved halfway before she started filming, and she is not reading the numbers. I know her, thus I will vouch for her. Also she can recite the Green Lantern chant by heart" in case you did miss it, THE NERD QUEEN APPLICANT RECITES THE GREEN LANTERN CHANT BY HEART.
-
Something tells me her course load is too light.
-
Real nerds memorize e. And she would have built a robot to solve the Rubik's cube for her. Or at least wrote code to do it. In three lines.
-
No act of nerdery can be more impressive
-
there is no letter "O" in pi. lets see her do it again saying it properly with the digit zero.
-
she is obviously reading pi from something off camera, you pathetic chodes
-
I know a girl who can do the rubik's cube and recite pi to at least the 500th digit, don't thing she can do the book balancing though and yeah, she wasn't solving that rubik's cube
-
I did memorize that one as a date!
-
...and she does it all in 42 seconds coincidence? Yeah, sure!
-
Now if she'd only do this in a Princess Leia slave bikini..........
-
1 word, 2 syllables: Schaaahwing!
-
Okay, let me point something out here. Even if she is just arranging and then reversing the Rubix (and I grant, it looks a lot like that), she's still remembering the pattern while balancing 15 books and reciting pi. So, yeah.
-
After this vid, she probably is...
-
WOW! This is awesome. She is 100% a nerd girl.
-
To summarize CC's response: "Dragons are fantasy."
-
She should be juggling nerds.
-
Cobra Commander writes, "Unless trying to impress nerds is also considered nerdery." Let me ask you a question, CC: when did a pretty girl with long blonde hair and a great smile do anything just to impress you? That devotion alone makes her nerd queen. And your criticizing her performance instead of seeing that is what makes you a nerd.
-
I'm inclined to argue that she recited pi from memory, since the groups were not all of equal length, and some were recited differently (like, one group of four she recited as "nineteen seventy-one," as if she had memorized it as a date). Also, if the books were shifting, it would already be too late to re-balance; she's bobbling around because she can feel the balance shifting on here head, I'd imagine. But then, I'm at the point where I'll defend whatever she does to the death, because I suddenly want to have her babies.
-
boing...
-
No human being is that amazing. She must be a cylon! Toss the toaster out the fraking air lock!
-
And we still will my friend!
-
I'm in love. And yes, she could be reading the digits of pi...except for the fact that she's staring down at the Rubik's cube in her hands most of the time. As someone who's never learned the pattern and can generally solve only one side at most, the solving is still impressive to me. As is the book balancing. They look like they're taped together or something, sure, but I doubt she taped them to her head, so she's still balancing them. Now would anyone like to fact check the digits she recited?
-
A C++ manual, the entire Baroque Cycle, Godel, Escher, Bach, 1st Edition Dungeon Master's Guide, and a Klingon dictionary.
-
I was gonna post the SP trailer but dchopkins beat me to it. Rob! Stop everything you're doing and post the trailer! I...I can't express it in words. I'm going to continue weeping tears of joy now. BTW you also left out a post on Scott Pilgrim vol. 6 Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour. Wtf man??. http://destroyerzooey.livejournal.com/249924.html
-
That was the first thing I noticed. None of the books even slightly moved around at all. And she was making some pretty good bobbles all around the room... shouldn't a book or two have at least shifted a little bit? I assumed the books were glued/taped together. And others have said she didn't really "solve" the Cube either. She took an already solved Cube, messed it up a bit, then just "re-solved" it (which you could do with your eyes closed if you memorize the 15-20 moves that were made in one direction so you can reverse it). And how do we know there wasn't a big cue card off-screen for her to read the digits? I don't want to just be a doubter... but the way it was presented just leaves WAY too much to question...
-
What we don't know but now do is that the books were glued to her head. Acting like she was losing balance was to throw us off on the ruse.
-
Long live the queen! Also, I am curious to what the books are.
-
HERE'S THE LINK ROB! POST IT NOW!!! http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/universal/scottpilgrimvstheworld/
-
I'm way more impressed with women who have decent sword pulling skills. IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. and also: wakka wakka
-
Actually that would be quite impressive, especially if the tigers were juggling the chainsaws, but then that would be worthy of a post. Unfortunately she does only rearrange the cube, even if its not possible to prove the part about reading the numbers of pi, who wants to read - let alone flame - a post about some one who has pretty good balance, but cannot juggle man eating tigers weilding chainsaw nunchucks (http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/5p37) Yes, i just upped the level required to impress me.
-
Yup, I want her to marry me.....
-
Video is blocked here (guessing it's youtube), but that doesn't sound like nerdery. It sounds like autism.
-
Don't listen to F, nerdgirls! We love you for your minds!
-
Yeah, it's not impressive until she's juggling live tigers and chainsaws at the same time as well. /sarcasm Get over yourself. She still did it all while balancing the books. Who cares if she made the rubiks cube and pi parts a little simpler?
-
She's not actually solving that rubix cube. Just twisting the sides to the last step in a systematic pattern of solving it and then "solving" it again. The other aspects of it are kind of impressive though.
-
She didn't so much solve the cube as slightly messed it up and reversed those steps. I suspect also that she was reading the digits of pi. Leaving impressive balance, but nerdery? Not so sure. Unless trying to impress nerds is also considered nerdery.
-
She could be reading number Pi. But we love her anyway. Now if she could only do it in her underwear...
-
Its not the ability its the imagination...who thinks to combine those things?
-
to be fully convinced I would need to know the titles of the books.
-
Dude, the Scott Pilgrim trailer is out! POST IT POST IT
