Alert TR reader James M alerted me to this in-progress fan film about Casey Jones, being made by some nerds in Austin, Texas. This is less a proper preview than some various footage cut together to some music that sounds suspiciously like part of John Carpenter's score for Big Trouble in Little China, but it does feature a herd of ninjas and a dude (a party dude?) in a swell Michelangelo costume, so they get an A for effort in my book.

No body understands cricket. ya gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket

seems totally awesome, but the shells are moving around on the turtles like they're just tied on...that's sort of a let down...i was really hoping for some awesome turtle suits/cg/minor re-design...but i love how much more gritty it is!
-
Sais are probably the most difficult turtle weapon to pull off in live-action wearing big rubber gloves. Why can't we get another TMNT movie like this? Use the Henson suits for 90% and just tweak things with CG here and there to make them a little faster and more nimble. The original movie still holds up really well - even with kids who didn't grow up in the 80s/90s.

Interestingly ironic comment... did you not notice the other six people who have already said the exact same thing in this thread? I don't think you can call anyone a moron, jackass. Try reading through next time.

"cut together to some music that sounds suspiciously like part of John Carpenter's score for Big Trouble in Little China," This music is FROM THE TMNT MOVIE. Rob, I have said this before, many times. But it is official, and I am right, once again. You are a fucking moron.

Casey Jones doesn't like sewers. "You're a claustrophobic" -Donatello
-
They get a an A, full four years tuition, and a fucking honorary diploma for that. Live action turtle suits, hell yea baby.
-
I want one of those turtle suits. That was kick ass! And I add to the outpouring of soundtrack-related scorn. Shame on you!
-
mikey, leo then casey. when they did the new series a few years back my first question was "wheres casey?" GOONGALA!

someone's getting a corner of his geek membership card cut!

I don't know what this article is about, but I now have a Grateful Dead song stuck in my head just from seeing the title.
-
Awesomeness abounds.
-
It's cool, but couldn't they get a guy with a little muscle mass? He's so skinny! Still, big kudos for the effort here.
-
Too amazing for words.
-
First CD I ever owned was the soundtrack to this movie. Still one of my favorites.
-
I have no idea where this music is from. Also, Big Trouble in Little China is almost up in my Netflix queue so maybe I will find out soon!
-
Hey, did anyone else notice that the music was from the first TMNT Movie? 'Cause it totally is! Wow, I'm glad I'm the first one to mention it! Gee, I hope no one else did, 'cause then I'll look lame for not having read the comments before posting.
-
love the guy in the mike suit. and the guy playing Casey actully pulls off the character. makes me want to see the whole film. this just proves how creative some fans of some character can be.
-
Well do you understand cricket?
-
This looks pretty good, but I think I need to do some research to fully appreciate this. I still don't know what a crumpet is.
-
maybe they couldn't find a guy who was as proficient with sai as this guy was with chucks?
-
Annoyed me i couldn't remember the song, so i dug it up from my collection. Yup, it was from the original TMNT from 1990, song was called "Shredders Suite" Also had a gem of a track from MC Hammer.
-
I think thats the music from the first Ninja Turtles movie.
-
That....was pretty damn sweet. Although I wondered why they had Casey team up with Mikey when in the comics its always been Raph/Casey...not that I'm complaining. Hope theres more to come.....
-
shame on you for not owning and knowing BY HEART the first TMNT movie and it's associated soundtrack
-
Will do.
-
As others have said, the music is from the first (and very awesome) movie.
-
That right there kiddies was full of potential. Dark, gritty and brooding like the original TMNT's were meant to be.
-
wow! that was pretty damn good! the costumes are pretty well done and the fighting's damn good! man, i love this! makes me want to watch those first two TMNT movies!
-
Fuck. Yeah. that looked really good. I live near Austin, now I'm gonna have to go stalk these guys. looks great
-
Nice, please keep us posted on this.
-
That's actually pretty bad-ass! Pretty sure the music's a lift from the first TMNT movie though. Can't wait to see if they do more...lots of times with stuff like this you only ever get the trailer, but they've obviously put some time and effort into this and I'd love to see the end result.
-
I thought that song was in the original TMNT movie? My favorite part of this video is when he beats the crap out of the homeless guys. "No one burns garbage for warmth in my town!"
-
the music is from the first TMNT movie
-
That looks completely awesome. The Mikey suit actually does look way better than I expected. Gonna keep an eye on this.
