Emma Frost is from Boston. Her British accent is fake.
-
Ditto. To hell with continuity, as long as it is good. Batman Begins and the Dark Knight didn't follow comic continuity, and they rocked ass. Besides, WHICH X-men continuity are we talking about? There's the mainstream, the Ultimate, the First Class, the Marvel Adventures... when dealing with comic book continuity, there is no "one true word". We're talking about books where a character like Cyclops has aged 15 years since 1963 and nobody seems to have noticed. Give it a rest.
-
Remember kids - DC went and blew up all their alternate realities/earths. Marvel has always loved messing with the time-lines and alternate universes. Just take the Marvel movies and set them aside as an alternate reality from that presented in the comics. It enables them to have a little bit more creativity in the movies themselves to differentiate from the comics and (obviously) reach a bigger audience. Also - that chick is hot and I would love to see her as Emma Frost on the big screen.
-
Well you're in luck Alice Eve is as British as they come. So no need to put on a fake accent for the role....it'll be all natural.
-
Of course, you've hit the problem with casting based soley on hotness. It's simply much easier to download the pics off the internet and save twenty bucks.
-
The X-Men movies have gone to shit, since the last one. That said, she (physically) is not a bad choice. but I would have gone w/ Kristana Loken.
-
Subtle...
-
Do not belittle the name of the God Emperor. He is adequate for any role Mankind could conceive.
-
Emma is English, so if that is the accent you're going for then she should be able to nail it.
-
Actually it's a good catch on her eyes. She has heterchromia - they're defferent colors. One's blue and one's green.
-
BOOSH!
-
It's a reboot, isn't it?
-
It's a reboot, isn't it?
-
Parents get all uptight when you put teenage girls in S&M gear on the big screen for some reason.
-
Seconded. It doesn't have to follow continuity. Much like the Ultimate line, or the various animated shows, it's its own entity, with its own storyline. The comics can't keep on top of their own continuity all of the time, so why expect, knowing the differences between the two mediums and the two markets. How about we just hope someone takes these characters we love and makes an enjoyable film?
-
Gah...pretty girl...me go see movie fer sure..
-
Well, I'm just gonna call it since no one else will...... I'd LOVE to "frost" the hell outta that...put the "frosting" on her....you name it!
-
James McAvoy as Xavier? Huh...y'know, Patrick Stewart actually has a son? A grown son? Who's also an actor? Anyway, I'm just hoping they do a better job on Frost's powers. Maybe I'm just weird, but I kinda imagined "made of diamond" as looking less like "a pile of cut diamonds mushed into the shape of a person."
-
Odd, my first thought upon seeing the trailer for SOOYL (okay, my actual first thought was "Oh, I forgot it's collegiate sex comedy season in a month) was, "Good Christ, that girl is built like a comic book heroine!" She didn't seem to sparkle with screen presence in that small bit of screen time, but I await the leaked costume promos with interest.
-
Red Dragon (the movie) is the epitome of big-budget cash-in hackery. There's not an interesting or original note in the whole film, despite great actors and great source material. Shit, *Hannibal* was a better movie, and Hannibal is *terrible*.
-
It's a toss up for which movie I despise him more for: Ruining the Silence of the Lambs franchise or the X-Men franchise. I thought the guy was talking up Rush Hour and admitting to defeat on Red Dragon. Granted I haven't read anything about the Studio screwing it up (doesn't surprise me - it is Fox after all). But at after Red Dragon and X3 - if I see Rattner's name attached to anything - I avoid it.
-
god I wish Fassbender would just be in a good fucking movie....like he has been in good, and even great, totally fantastic films. Weird that as he's more popular the roles/movies are nearly as good as what he's already done..dammit.
-
Having read that shitty comic this movie is based off of I couldn't see why they would make a movie from it. But c'mon how can you start anew and then fuck it up before filming has started. No amount of hotness will make me watch his movie. Marvel get the rights to your properties back so we can get a good X-Men movie.
-
This movie could be good or bad but I will have to side with those who know when all is said and done the movie will be as bad if not worse than X-3 was......
-
So, teenage Emma Frost was rescued by a middle-aged Professor X in the last movie, and now they're going to be roughly the same age? And here I thought Fox couldn't top their stupidity.
-
This is part of the reason I enjoyed finding the Marvel Wikia: They give the movies their own universe (Earth-199999) as if to say "That's happening over there, and while we acknowledge it's happening, that doesn't mean we have to like it, or accept it into our comic continuity." I do fear for this movie, although I'm willing to let it try to stand on it's own legs.
-
Mmmm, Alive Eve. Now I'll see this movie just because she's in it.
-
His point was, yes, he directed the sucky Rush Hour movies, but he also directed a what I assume he beleives to be a good movie, Red Dragon. (Never seen it so not sure if his point is valid)
-
Are the Rush Hour movies meant to bolster the argument that he can make good movies? If so, you might want to rethink that line of reasoning...
-
Right there with you. People insist on bitching about Ratner, when X-Men 3 is much more attributable to the head of Fox Studios who had been screwing with the movies since the first one. Ratner directed the Rush Hour films, yes. He also directed Red Dragon.
-
But he's such a good whipping boy, seeing as how he's a soulless hack.
-
That's right, X-Men 3 was all Brett Ratner's fault, even though he (a) didn't write a single word of the script, and (b) only came on board a few months before filming began (as a replacement when Matthew Vaughn dropped out), so he wasn't part of the pre-production process. But never mind all that. Angry nerds needed their whipping boy, so they got it.
-
And now the last bit of hope I had for this movie has been dashed. It'll be funny to see how it plummets at the box office. I pray for it just to see Fox give up the rights finally.
-
HA! This!
-
Scott will have Jean, hopefully they will both be teenagers, and Emma should stay far away.
-
To clarify, I am not saying that is is how I think it should be. But rather what I think is going through their minds. This is a production team that thought Wolverine's jacket from the first films needed it's own origin story within the Wolverine movie.
-
Yeah she's all kinds of attractive and can star in 'scrubbing the tub' and I would watch that movie in the dark breathing heavily and repeating 'oh yeah, you scrub that hard water stain. Scrub it goooooooooooood.'
-
Is there really any hope for the X-Men movies at Fox? Maybe the second Wolverine movie if they stick to the Claremont & Miller Japanese story. Though I'm sure they'll find a way to make that unrecognizable too. Also... Is Scott gonna be a teen in this? Cause Ms Frost would be a rather naughty teacher robbin the cradle like that...
-
Fanboys care way too much about continuity. You know what I want? A good movie. It's pretty easy to accept all of the minor continuity problems here and there as long as the movie produced kicks all sorts of ass. Now, I'll get in that boat if the movie is another "Wolverine." At that point the continuity issues just compound the problems.
-
Emma's gotta have the accent. If only Helen Mirren were thirty years younger... (Not that she's bad now by any means! Total G-MILF!)
-
Yeah, but it was weird, ghosty, digitaly de-aged Patric Stewart: same as in X3. They couldn't make a whole movie with that. I think keeping the continuity they have already created in the series is more important to them than the problem of changing actors
-
It's not like she is the actual she in "She's Out of My League" or anything.
-
I want to see Alice Eve in every single movie she doesn from now on, except Sex and the City 2, fuck that shitbomb.
-
i dont think they can do that because if you remember correctly stewart was xavier in that scene, how retarded would they be to recast him there
-
Of course she is not attractive compared to the ass that one like yourself must pull on an hourly basis.
-
They are probably trying to stay in line with the Wolverine movie, which ended with Xavier picking up Scott, Emma and a bunch of other kids at that island compound. That's my guess, since they have already put her in the movie-verse and all. But that would also mean that McAvoy is definitely going to be bald. Weird.
-
I wonder how much, if any, Hellfire Club stuff appears in the final product. I just hope she isn't the love interest who tears Xavier and Magneto apart.
-
Look, as someone who has just fallen deeply in love with this girl after watching the 'out of my league' movie all I have to say YAY and rrrr and huba-huba!! Seriously if this movie turns out to be anything like X3 at least it will be worth watching for the hotness of it all.
-
She's not very attractive. Her eyes look photoshopped on.
-
An article with the excuse of posting pictures of an uber hot chick and Rob has to go and nerd it all up!
-
No Patrick Stewart/Ian McKellen/Kelsey Grammer? Thank You, but no thank you good sir.
-
It's possible that she's playing more of an Ultimate Frost, where if I remember correctly, she set up a rival school around the same time because she and X had a falling out. After all, Juggs in 3 was far closer to the ultimate character than in the main series. Not defending them or anything, but it seems to make sense. I just hope she doesnt LITERALLY turn into diamonds this time.
-
Just look on the bright side, maybe the costume will be comic correct
-
Two words for ya: "Avengers Assemble!"
-
So this is another Direct-to-DVD video that somehow makes it to the big screen, eh?
