• Yeah, I'm not sure whether or not to read the books. I know I'd probably love them but I don't really want to spoil a show I love as much as this one. 

• The theme song is great and the guy with the violin is very talented. There I got that out of the way now I need to bitch about something. I have been reading A Song of Ice and Fire.  I got through the first three books really fast because they were really good.  A Clash of Kings was a bit rough considering the amount of child abuse it contains but I was interested enough to continue.  A Storm of Swords was the first book that really shocked me with some of the twists which is really hard to do because I see most twists that people think are clever coming a mile away. Now I am reading A Feast for Crows and it is fucking awful.  Its not that all the characters keep getting abused, maimed and tortured (that happens in every book in this series) what bothers me is that it is so fucking boring.  In the other books there was always something there to balance out all the abuse, maiming and torture, in A Feast for Crows all we get are pointless flashbacks that last five pages when the same information could have been given to us in about two paragraphs.

• I am NOT a fantasy guy, and avoided the novels for years. My mistake.

• Yeah, the theme song is good, if not particularly original, as far as Zimmer/Remote Control compositions go. As for the rest of the Djawadi score, meh. Mostly medievalish/ethnic underscore, along the lines of what Trevor Morris (another RC member) did for The Tudors, but less memorable.

• Outstanding! I can't believe I didn't really care for the theme the first time I heard it. But after a couple of episodes I came to appreciate how brilliant it is.

• I watched the whole series online recently and I loved it! I didn't think a 'realistic' fantasy world would interest me but it was really one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Tyrion! Arya! Jon motherfucking Snow! And once Khal Drogo melted that dude's head with molten gold, I knew it was love. He'll make a fine Conan.

• BIG Game of Thrones news! Amazon has sent out about 180 copies of the new book by mistake. Avoid the internet because spoilers are out there!!

• I really don't find the scoring work that was done for Game of Thrones to be remarkable or even particularly interesting. I had high hopes and they were not met. I'm not saying that I want someone to come along and re-hash Howard Shore or Bear McCreary, but the music used throughout felt like an afterthought to the rest of the production rather than an organic part of it.
