PS. It would be good if the Red Skull made an appearance as he got sucked up into nowhere by the cosmic cube although Hugo isn't on the list.

Here's a new video from the Avengers movie that actually features a damn Avenger. Here's Cap in his new Avengers togs, beating the crap out of guys in mo-cap suits. Now, most folks assume that the guys in the mo-cap suits are supposed to be aliens, probably Skrulls, which is supported by the crazy weapon one of the dudes fighting Cap is wielding. If that's true, I'm 100% down with this. I was genuinely worried the villains was just going to be Loki. Bustin' some Skrulls is a-okay by me. Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

Spoiler ALERT!
I believe from the extras on the THOR video you can figure out the story line.
1. Some issue about controlling Abomination and the HULK will start the assembly of the Avengers or something along those lines. References in Extras (Controller) with Agent Coulson. Stark talking to General Ross.
2. LOKI uses the cosmic cube to summon the Skrulls. If the Skrulls aren't used then the Frost Giants will probably get the gig. Though no ice is used in any scenes so the Skrulls are more than likely. References in the post trailer and in the Extras comic images of the Avengers fighting the Skrulls
I've been an extra on the set in Cleveland for the last couple days now, and it's been pretty fun. I've had almost as good a time watching the spy-cam stuff I see online and people tearing it apart out of context. I don't know when the scenes I'm in take place in the film, but I can tell all the whiny fanboys that are bitching about the Loki armor looking like painted plastic that it is, in fact, real armor. Tom Hiddleston is kind enough to talk to us lowly extras in between takes and I told him his helmet looked bad ass and according to him it weighs about 12lbs. and the rest of the armor about another 50. And the little bit of dialogue I've heard from Loki's monologue to us and his confrontation with Captain America and Iron Man is pretty good as well. I think this movie will surprise some of the haters, but those already looking to hate it will hate it anyway. And I will finish by saying Tom Hiddleston is much taller than he looks on-screen and Chris Evans is much shorter than I expected.
I hope it's not Skrulls. Being a fan of the Iron Man films, I liked that they were (somewhat) based in the real world/near future, with a degree a plausibility and, as daft as this sounds, a lack of "comic-ness". Introducing aliens into a continuation of those stories seems a little off
You do realise that no matter who the villains are, this movie will involve Iron Man interacting with an extradimensional god, right?
I dunno, Rob. They could be A.I.M people, or more organized HYDRA. However, if it turns out to really be Skrulls, or hell, even Ultrons, then dammit! I'm gonna have to bring a change of pants during the premiere! XD
Yeah, I know you were a Marvel fan, I didn't realize you were a zombie. If a DC hero had a mask as stupid looking as the one Capt. America is wearing, you'd be ripping it to shreds.
Luckily, stupid masks are still forgivable as oppose to, oh I dunno, REBOOTING YOUR ENTIRE GODDAMN LINEUP!!
Anybody else notice the OTHER Cap walking into the shot at the bottom of the screen around 0:11? Now I want to know if it's Chris up there on the car, or his stunt double.
yeh I saw him too, must be the stunt double (or chris evans if the double is doing the fighting)
If Whedon kills of Pepper Potts I will be forever greatful. Gwyneth Paltrow is the worst thing about both Iron Man movies.
I'm afraid if I ask this question my nerd card will be taken away, but didn't the Skrulls have something to do with the Cosmic Cube? And didn't we get a hint from the ending of "Thor" that it would be in "The Avengers"?
The Skrulls have a history of having engineered their own Cube, out of which hatched the Shaper of Worlds. Another Cube was created by the Hydra offshoot A.I.M. The Red Skull was one of the major players fighting over possession of that Cube, which was eventually shattered by Captain Mar-Vell to keep it away from Thanos. A third Cube was created by the Red Skulls' scientists, only for S.H.I.E.L.D. to swipe it before the Skull could use it. The third cube would eventually hatch into another cosmic alien, the Shaper's apprentice, Kubik.
Since we haven't been given a background yet to the Cube from the Captain America film, only that it once rested in Odin's vault, it could very well be a Skrull artifact. The chance to retrieve it could be the carrot that Loki uses to lure them to Earth in the Avengers film. We'll have to wait and see, won't we?
Theories I've seen involve Loki using the Cube to bring the Skrulls to Earth or something like that.
I think it depends on which Avengers get romantically paired together. Whichever one becomes the cult fan favorite is first on the chopping block.
Well, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. are already cast for sequels; so it won't be one of them.
I love how this is the first question we were all asking once we heard Joss Whedon was directing.
Ahhh.... I did not know this. Although I can't imagine Producers Avi Arad & Kevin Feige allowing him to kill one of the Avengers. But you never know. :)
I thought I'd read that when he came onboard, he did his own rewrite of the script.
Ahhh finally a suit that's kind of close to the source material without texture nor shinyness added for no reason. Awesome!
Not awesome for everyone. Cap's World War II suit was awesome. I really do not like the more comic bookesque costume from the Avengers.
So, despite the presence of a big gun that was clearly supposed to be firing something at Cap, you're going with the Wrecking Crew, a group with no guns, and no need for motion capture suits?
He is right thats crazy. I say Madrox the Multiple man. Or maybe 45 tiny Galactus clones. (Galacti?)
it's Madrox, the Wrecking Crew, and the entire Serpent Society, who all turn out to be Skrulls.
