Isn't it supposed to be "Duct" Tape?
OW!!
Who threw that "No Grammar Nazi!" sign at me?!
Like Rob needs duct tape to stick things together after he's seen something Tron related.
Is it possible that Tron Guy might actually making some money back from being Tron Guy now?
This is undoubtedly awesome, but honestly I'd much rather see the Tron Legacy version of this Duck Tape advert with Olivia Wilde instead of the Tron Guy... However come to think of it, I honestly can't imagine anything that couldn't be improved by Olivia Wilde in a Tron Suit
I really like the image of directly reversing the script but changing no lines, so the commercial ends with Tron Guy coming in to complain because Olivia Wilde is playing with duck tape instead of cleaning the garage.
Wow, just wow... I believe that you have discovered the greatest advertisement of all time. The only problem is I'm left with an empty feeling inside when I realise that there's no way it will ever exist.
Don't know what it is about him but I'm still not tired of Tron guy, and is that his real wife?
Do you believe every fat schlub in a commercial is married to a hot chick? It's a concept you'll see in almost every commercial with a couple, dumpy balding overweight lump married to thin svelte attractive girl seven or eight leagues above him. Doesn't really reflect reality.
You see it plenty in real life, not all the time but it's there. I was just thinking his miniscule amount of fame might have been the edge he needed to land a hot wife. It's not completely out of the realm of possibility.
lol this vidoe proves even in the world of tron duct tape has a use. mostly as new playthings for the tron guy
I don't know what's weirder; That they hired the TRON guy or we are to assume he has a wife that attractive.
Don't think he's gay, He went out with my High School math teacher on Jimmy Kimmel, but of course it could of been staged. Oddly enough I talked to a kid that went to the same school post tron date, you get detention now if you mention her date with tron guy.
"TRON GUY BROKE MY HEART, KENNETH. YOU'RE STAYING AFTER CLASS TODAY." *in the not too distant past...* "But, Tron Guy! You can't do this to me! I LOVE you!" She cried. "Sorry, babe, but you're too bland for me. I live life in the fast lane!" TG smugly answered. "T-Tron Guy! No! Please stay!" She begged, beginning to break down. "Hotbuns, my time here is over. I'll come back again someday. Don't forget me." TG said wistfully, looking into her eyes. *math teacher begins to sob as Tron Guy rides away into the sunset* "AWWWWW YEAH FOLKS." Tron Guy muttered, scratching his testicles as he rode away in the privacy of his Ford Escort.
figured that given all the ones tied to spider man are part of spider island and given the fact that ben was a clone could mean that maybe there could be more then one copy.not surprised to see ben back in the spider man universe. though the other marvel never needs to revist that thing in any form
Only Tron guy would have thought of something like that.
*feels evil Rob eyes*
..and you, Rob.
those 15 minutes of fame aren't the only things being held together by ducktape; some very crotchy bits and pieces seem to have been sanitized for your protection; Rob - you have my sympathies
Is it just me or is Tron Guy turning into Wilford Brimley? Which I'm okay with, because I can't wait to see that oatmeal commercial.
For the record do not use "duck tape" on ducts - it's called duck tape because it's waterproof. I'ts not called "duct tape" because you'll f* up your duct work if you use this stuff on it as it does not take hot and cold well.
Very true, the adhesive is very poorly water resistant. The condensation from changing air temperatures around duct work will break up the adhesive and the fibers will set up mildew.I have lost count of how many attempted garden hose repairs I've seen with the stuff.
Use duck tape on duct work and it will slough off as the cloth backing spereated from the adhesive then you'll have fun trying to clean goopy adhesive off of the duct so you can use proper duct tape which should have a metalic backing, not cloth. Actually good duct work should lock together without tape.
As stated above, "duct tape" is the mispronunciation of "duck tape" not the other way around :)
Actually, the Oxford English Dictionary believes it was originally 'duck tape':
The Oxford English Dictionary says that perhaps "duct tape" was originally "duck tape". This view is summarized most notably in a New York Times article by etymologist William Safire in March 2003. Safire cites use of the term "cotton duck tape" in a 1945 advertisement for surplus government property.[20] The Brooklyn Daily Eagle uses the term "duck" in 1902 quotation for "100,000 yards of cotton duck tape" being used to protect the cables of the Brooklyn Bridge.[21] Thus a fabric duck tape was available to which an adhesive could have been added. - Via Wikipedia.
There is a brand called Duck Tape, though, and it is a pretty awesome brand at that. Though as Gallen said, duck tape actually scored just about the lowest of lows when it was tested for the use of duct sealing. Most people assume duck is a mispronunciation because it sounds a little silly, not realizing it is highly moisture resistant(like a duck's feathers), to the extent that it can actually be used underwater.
Yep, it's tape made out of canvas "duck cloth". The same stuff tarps used to be made out of, and shelter-halves are still made out of.
