The Alien/Prometheus Connection May Be Lamer Than You Thought
In Alien, the ship Notromo was sent out by the Weyland-Yutani company. In Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s non-prequel prequel to Alien, Guy Pearce is playing Peter Weyland, who sends out this ship, and who started at least the Weyland portion of what becomes the Weyland-Yutani company. That’s it. That’s the connection (or at least one of them). That’s so inconsequential I’m not even putting it after the jump.
The video above, by the way, is a little promo — not a scene from the movie — made for the currently ongoing 2012 TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) conference, where Weyland addresses the TED of 2022 or so while checking off every single line in the “entrepreneurs/scientists who doom themselves/others with their hubris” checklist.
