DONUT OH DONUTTY YUM I *BLEEEEEEEEEP* WITH A *BLEEP* DONUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS BEST LIKE LONKEY LOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The animation reminds me of the Disney Channel atrocities of Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh.
Apparently DC Nation is on a budget.
Before it came out, I would have sworn that Batman: The Brave and the Bold was going to be terrible.... how wrong I was.
According to Wikipedia Kurtwood Smith aka Clarence "Leave Bitches" Boddicker will be voicing Lieutenant Gordon, in this series.
I WANNA BANG A GIRL DRESSED AS A DONUT SANDWICH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Someguy I think the replacing the line theory might be the teensiest off. Seriously what is this guy doing on a post about a batman cartoon?
Why Katana though? Why NOT Batgirl? If they wanted to do a team based Batman series with Katana in it, why didn't they just make "Batman and the Outsiders"? I just don't get it.
Some mean Brony guy crashed the party. A girl my niece's age shouldn't be being verbally attacked by a 36 year old man for not picking Pinkie Pie over Strawberry. Also, they could make Beware the Batman work this way.....but probably not.
TWILIGHT SPARKLE SHALL KILL YOU FOR YOUR INSOLENCE NON PONY LOVER!!! ALL HAIL CELESTIA!!! and that's what I hear on the care bears website when my little sis asks me to get her a new bear for christmas. Really though go comfort your niece about it instead of thinking about BEWARE THE BATMAN.
Maybe because I've only heard the few seconds of his voice so far but I think it will get annoying if I actually watched this cartoon which I won't. Sounds like he is trying to sound like other batmans which makes it over the top and campy. However, I guess with a gun toting Alfred who cares about the voice right?
Right now, the voice (if that's Steve Blum, and not someone trying to sound like Steve Blum trying to sound like Steve Blum trying to sound like Kevin Conroy, so to speak) is the only thing giving me the slightest bit of hope about the series.
And yes, I know I might be being unfair to the creators: "We've only shown you snippets! Why are you judging us only on those snippets?! Why not wait until you see more of it!?"
Because, your producers decided to release these snippets for us to judge your show on. I pray to God, for your sake and for ours, that your producers simply suck at marketing. Nevertheless, this is all we have to go on and we're being expected to form enough of an opinion about it from those snippets to be excited about watching it!
And it's failing. I'm seriously considering spending real money collecting the now-defunct "The Batman" series instead, because I've seen enough of that to have some hope of at least partial quality.
(Note: by "you" I don't mean you, Cougar, of course. {g})
"Coming to DC Nation"
Does that mean they are replacing the barely watchable GL with this crappy Batbot?
Well if the creators of the series' goal is to make me appreciate the original Batman: TAS and its rather weaker successor the New Adventures of Batman, then congratu-fucking-lations!! It's super fucking effective!
Fuck this show! I'm going back to watching my old recordings of the original animated series run!
I was just thinking about picking up the seasons (and movie) for "The Batman" instead of watching this.
Because that's how desperate and depressed I am.
Uhhh...
Look, I wasn't expecting anything awesome. It's an animated TV series on its first season, not a Pixar film. But...That animation...That face...Those damn lips...
Not excited. I'll try an episode, just for the fact that Pyg is a main villain, but the points are stacking up against this series. Alfred toting guns? Sure, he might protect the Manor with rifle, but he wasn't out fighting crime. Katana? No real opinion on her, but she's a member of the Outsiders--not Batman's sidekick or even that much of a recurring character. I'm fine with her appearing, but leave the Robins and the Batgirls to the sidekick role.
If they're going to do CG, they should make it look like Arkham Asylum / Arkham City games, not crappy knock-off of Bruce Timm's character models. The whole point of Timm's simplified designs was to make it easier for the foreign animators to draw the characters correctly, which is not a concern with CG animation.
It's gonna take getting used to, but Green Lantern warmed pretty fast. It depends how serious they are about mostly focusing on previously unused villains. What really worked with TAS was no one was expecting the villains to be fleshed out so well. However, for the most part there's a reason no one's used those particular villains before.
That said, I'm anticipating it just for Anarky. Though to use him WITHOUT having a Robin to square off against seems a little short sighted.
Most of the (admittedly few) Anarky stories I've read feature no Robin whatsoever, although admittedly that does seem more appropriate.
This is one of the best looking playstation one games I've ever seen. That's what it is right?
It's not? Oh.
I geuss if "Fabio" isn't gonna come back to scream about a doughnut I should go watch "Young Justice" On Demand.
Oh look, a Batman cartoon with slightly crappier animation than Reboot. We lost Brave and the Bold for This?
Hmm, Batman's inner monologue motivations appear to be wrath, wrath and more wrath, Alfred's Packing heat, all the creepiest new Batman villains are featured on the poster, everything's devoid of colour and hope, no Robin whatsoever... does anyone else get the feeling the marketing guys for this show are going a little overboard on the whole darkness angle to try and convince people Beware the Batman is the complete opposite of Brave and the Bold in every way imaginable. I mean come on the actual show can't really be like this, can it? If you asked someone from a remote tribe in the Amazon rainforest with no access to the outside world whatsoever they'd tell you that Alfred does not carry guns and fight crime with Batman... This has all gotta be poor and lazy marketing completely unrepresentative of the actual finished show to try and reel in all the people who didn't like the fun and campy style of BBatB... Surely?
I need more to judge but first impressions of all I known and heard does not inspire me. I swear I was waiting for him to say at the end, "for I am Darkwing Duck."
I would be frothing at the mouth if Disney was rebooting DWD with this kind of art style.
I just read on the previous works on Beware's creators. I've got mixed feelings about this. Got to leave now for my niece's fourth birthday. I hear it's Strawberry Shortcake themed.
I WANNA DONUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was extremely weird. How does Beware The Batman make this nut lust for a doughnut?
Hawkman: The Animated Series could happen because Green Lantern already has Thanagarian designs. It would be cheap and easy to start. Also to BlakkDruid and everybody here, I could 93% do okay without Beware The Batman on the air!
That animation looks piss poor, but the fact that Professor Pyg is in it guarantees I'll be giving it a chance
Pyg actually gave me a nightmare once. Damien Wayne was there dancing to "sexy disco pop". Just kiddin' but he does scare me a teeny bit. Also I recently recovered from being a Brony!(SERIOUS)
God I hope this is better than the Green Lanterzzzzzzzzz....at least thats what I assume the title of the show is. It put me to sleep 3 week in a row, causing me to miss YOUNG JUSTICE. I now set my alarm for 10:25 and only see about 5 minutes of it each week.
Yellow Lantern all the way!
(Well, White Lantern I guess, but I don't have a WL costume for Batman Arkham City, so yellow it is.)
Totally. He might actually say "In no day In darkest night Let scum and lunatics wage their paths Beware the Dark Knight...Beware my Wrath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I'm actually fond of the new CG Green Lantern. He's never had a cartoon before and it does some justice for him. I think it's the thing Terrence-Bell-11 meant. A DCCGAU with Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman series! Though I could live without a new Batman cartoon. There have been too many of those and it's ruining itself by trying to be different.
Have to agree - wasn't a huge fan of the new GL at first, but it's been steadily getting better. We're getting a serialized series with a cast that's getting development.
Thanks Michael. How do you feel about Beware the Batman? Is it bad for you like for me?
I wonder if this means we get a bunch of new "CG DC" shows. That would be pretty cool if they did that. A Flash cartoon could be fine in this style.
I still need to see more before I can properly judge this, but a gun-toting Alfred has to be one of the DUMBEST ideas I've ever heard. Not only do you have Batman completely breaking character by allowing guns to be used in his fight against crime (correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Batman is anti-gun), but you also have a gun-toting Alfred serving as Batman's sidekick. Again, I need to see an episode or two before being able to say anything, but how in the holy hell are people NOT going to put two and two together and figure out that Bruce Wayne is Batman when they see Bruce Wayne's BUTLER helping Batman fight crime?
Only if Alfred is now Chinese (i.e. Bruce Lee as Kato).
Or a Japanese girl. (i.e. KataMMIT!! :X )
Yeah, Batman has used guns before as tools, but he would be utterly against Alfred going around shooting criminals.
It seems like I've read a few comics where Alfred is seen sporting a shotgun or some sort of English hunting rifle, usually while staring down an intruder at Wayne Manor or some such thing.
But they might have been umbrellas. My mind has slightly more important things to remember,
Fandom is generally okay with Alfred going combat butler in defense of Wayne Manor, so long as he isn't shown to be more than just average about it.
The promo art for Beware bothers us because he looks more like Steed from the Avengers being proactive about going out and kicking ass.
