Warning: First of all, this video has a spoiler for the end of Game of Thrones season 1, if this is somehow the first time you've accessed the internet since the final episode last year. Warning 2: Although this video is titled "How Game of Thrones Season 1 Should Have Ended," it's not in fact how Game of Thrones season 1 should have ended. It is, however, a depiction of a reasonably satisfying alternative to how it ended, because it centers around people hurting King Joffrey, and that's fucking entertainment. Enjoy. I figured that Sansa planned on toppling over the edge with Joffrey as she pushed him off. No beheading necessary.
I don't understand who should behead Sansa after that. Clearly everyone but his bitchy mother despised Joffrey. I say an accident would probably happen to her and the Starrks would ensure the Iron Throne for themselves. I'm quite positive Stannis doesn't really exist, after all we get to see him only in the second season and he really doesn't look all that important.
At this point Tywin Lannister is still top dog and you can bet there will be repurcussions for killing his grandson. Nobody fucks with Lord Tywin...well almost nobody.
Repercussions are not "immediate beheading of another house's member". Not everyone is politically blind like Joffrey is. And anyway, there will be much fighting to do. At the end, whoever wins will decide who gets to keep his head and who doesn't.
And only then there will be much beheading. But beheads well he who beheads last.
Well, yes... but since Robb's on the move already, I just thought that could be the final trigger to a civil war and the overthrowing of the Lannisters. A man can dream.
On top of that, if she kills Joff, all that does is gets her head chopped off before the Queen takes over, and she's just as bad.
He's the King! That's regicide we're talking about. You don't get off the hook for that. The Lannisters are still in power. It doesn't matter if she's from a noble house. Her value as a hostage is the only thing keeping her safe and all your worth goes out the window if you kill a king.
The only thing that kept Jaime Lannister alive after he killed a king was the fact that all of Aerys's own people had already turned against him. That and the fact that the Mad King had been brutal to his people for decades. Joffrey is just a kid who has only been ruling for a short time. The people don't all hate him...yet. He's getting there though.
I am fascinated by the fact that the GoT-verse is so dark that even in the best of all worlds, a young girl is still beheaded. And people ask me why I don't read those books anymore.
I would have liked it more if she turned to look back at Sandor Clegane and he just nods at her silently. As if to say "go ahead. I won't stop you. He's asking for it"
I gotta admit, I was kind of hoping for this when the show aired. That would have been cathartic enough that I would have forgiven them for going off book.
That kid is so damn good at being a total douchebag that he's going to be typecast his entire cereer as one. He's even more of a knob than the kid who played Draco Malfoy (Seen him in any recent movies? He's always an arsehole.) He must have people stopping him in the street. "Hey kid, I saw you on TV last night. You're a total dick. Don't ever change."
It's a long and glorious tradition.
Look at the guy who was the villain in The Karate Kid. He was always a bad guy or a douchebag.
Kinda dumb, simply because she obviously WANTED to do that, and was making her attempt when she was stopped by the Hound before she could push the little shit off the walkway.

And since there's no thread for the most recent episode of Ultimate Spider-Man, I just want to say that-- as a huge Spider-Man fan-- I really am growing to hate that show. The thing that cemented it for me was when Peter Parker pronounced the word "nuclear" as "noo-kyo-lur".
He's a science whiz. He's a genius. He wouldn't say that.
Other than that, the whole episode was just fucking ridiculous. They aren't even trying to tell decent Spider-Man stories. They're just doing a bunch of wild takes.
It makes me sad that Marvel Studios got Spider-Man's TV rights, and THIS was how they used the character. It just plain sucks.
What's sad is that we had a good Spider-Man show, in the form of Spectacular Spider-Man. It was under the creative control of Greg Weisman, the creator of Gargolyes, and had lots of great action, long-running plots, and character development. And it was canceled. I should point out that I have not seen the new show, but given that it's based on stories by the Hated Bendis, I am less than interested.
And that was Sony.
So I have to say I was wrong: Sony is handling Spider-Man's animated and live-action adventures better than Marvel has so far.
It's not just the "nuclear" pronunciation. It's that the show is ALL wild takes and breaking the fourth wall. It's not trying to be dramatic or serious AT ALL. It's 100% slapstick and "pause/aside" comedy. It's not even funny comedy. It's just lowbrow, funny-to-six-year-olds comedy.
Ultimate Spider-Man, the animated series, is way worse than the entirety of One More Day. I find myself wishing Spider-Man would make a deal with Mephisto to return his TV rights to Sony.
The show is an embarrassment. It's insulting and bad. I'm devastated by its failure to match the coolness and good storytelling of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
This is truly a case of "they didn't make it for me". They made this for really dumb, really inattentive children.
I had no idea it was Marvel Studios' doing. They could have done something amazing with Spider-Man on TV and instead we have this shit.
Pronouncing nuclear in that way is a dialect thing, not a lack of intelligence. I know everyone thought George W. was a dolt for pronouncing it that way, but Jack Bauer did the same for years, and everyone knows he's no dumbass.
I'm a south texas gentlemen too, doesn't mean i speak like a retard with marbles in his mouth.
That's not "pronunciation" at all. Stop hiding behind your dialect.
The word is NUCLEAR.
It's spelled N-U-C-L-E-A-R.
There is no way-- NO WAY-- that that combination of letters, in that order, in the English language, could be properly pronounced "nookyoolur".
If the word were NUCULAR, then you might have a point. But the word is NU-CLE-AR. There is only one way to pronounce it if you're trying to pronounce it correctly. If you say "nucular" then it's not because of your regional dialect; It's because you're an idiot who learned to say the word WRONG.
If you still think that pronunciation is a sign of intelligence, then you're the dumbass. Good day.
HA! AWESOME! Is it wrong that I chuckle to myself whenever Joffrey gets abused? I thought it was mandatory.
I think most people are prone to exclaiming, "ORRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!" when they abuse King Joffrey, ifyaknowwhatimean.
