My husband and I have been talking about how great it would be if they made LOTR a lego game for years. I can't wait for it's release, even though my 5 year old will probably hold it hostage as he has the rest of the Lego games.
More links from around the web!
Very cool. People who haven't played the Lego games don't know what they're missing. They may all be based on the same formulas (Lego Indy Jones 2 aside), but they're all fun and addicting.
I love the fact that, in a pinch, the Hobbits could serve as the Stark children. That said, I want to say this news is awesome, but I have too many memories of burning out on the Legos games. After a while, they do feel too repetitive and that feeling is made so much worse because so many of the unlockables depend on just being bought with bits.
I like the cheekbones on the taller members of the Fellowship. That and the eyebrows look like a hilarious attempt to make Lego minifigs SRS BSNS.
This is quite possibly the only time we can get Tom Bombadil in a movie-related LotR videogame, and more importantly, the only time Tom Bombadil could be remotely tolerable.
Both! ... or you could just wait a year for them to release the games compiled with their unneccesary sequels. Just like Lego India Jones.
I gotta say, I havn't cared about a Lego video game in a LONG time...honestly don't think I've enjoyed the ones I've tried since the original game in 2005.
I 100% want this game!
It just occurred to me that with these LEGO sets, one could possibly reenact this vintage FFF

I will die now.
Oh yikes, there goes more of my free time. This should serve as a good preview of what the minifigs for unreleased LOTR sets will look like too. Give me a a LEGO Balrog!
LEGOlas.
It was only a matter of time before someone posted that. I'm just getting it out of the way.
interesting choice by lego to honor the franchise this way. espically if the game makes gollum not really creepy in lego form
I did hear there is a glitch in the game, no matter what you do the Sean Bean lego always breaks.
