Today in Ghostbusters Dismay

We all know Ghostbusters 3 isn’t going to be made, it appears that director Ivan Reitman has finally accepted that cold, hard truth and is ready to move on. Wait, did I say move on? I meant make things worse:

I think Ghostbusters probably should be remade, if we can get it all right. We’re working on it, so we’ll see.

That’s a quote from an interview Reitman did with Collider. Assuming that an actual reboot would mean no one has to wait around for Bill Murray to 1) read the script 2) deny reading the script 3) say he loved the script 4) shredded the script possibly after reading it but also possibly not, a Ghostbusters reboot in which the original Ghostbusters do not mentor a new generation but instead merely get checks while watching Justin Long, Jay Baruchel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Kenan Thompson recreate a movie that cannot possibly be topped could start pre-production tomorrow, frankly. actually, in a way I’m kind of relieved; if the original crew had made a third movie, it almost certainly would be terrible but I’d feel compelled to see it anyways, because it’s Ghostbusters 3. A total reboot? I will have zero problems ignoring that for all of my days. (Via Nerd Bastards)
