I don't understand how people like this show. t's a screenwriter's fucking nightmare. It's like a primer on what not to do if you want to be a good screenwriter/telewriter. Excessive exposition, unmotivated flashbacks, terrible dialog, little to no character development, characters that forget details from one scene to the next, and an inability to maintain tension. I made it through three and a half episodes because I was hoping after the first few episodes it would hit its stride and become a good show but its just devolving with each episode. The only thing that has developed over the last few episodes is Ollie's body count. At first it was fun to watch because it was so terrible and everyone loves a train wreck but that gets old really fast. I can honestly say it is the most poorly written new show on TV after the pilot for The Neighbors.
@edge007 Exactly. I'm surprised that I'm actually surprised that people like this. People like Jersey Shore and 90% of the programming on MTV and the CW. It's sad that most of the time, we have to got to premium cable to find decent, well written, well executed programming. I get that taste is subjective but there is no masking the bitter taste that Arrow left in my mouth at having seen the extremely shoddy writing on that series, especially from Marc Guggenheim. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised since this guy was one of the guys who wrote (and ruined) the Green Lantern movie.
