There are any number of reasons why an attack of George Romero-style zombies couldn't actually happen, from the dogs that would love to eat them some fresh bones to the fact that, well...dead things just don't fucking come back to life and start eating. That's what we call a "conceit."
So if a local TV station tells you that it's actually happening, as one in Great Falls, Montana did - don't believe them. It was almost certainly the work of hackers.
Unless that's just what the powers-that-be want you to think...

Frankly though, I wouldn't consider the zombies to be a sign of the apocalypse. No, I'd say a greater sign would be the fact that we can apparently have perfect pancakes & eggs for only twenty dollars?? But...but achieveing that normally costs four times as much!! WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS???
Dammit people, that's why the zombies are coming! Those flapjacks were just so kickass that even the dead had to rise from their graves to see it in action. Our hubris has become our downfall, folks. Our only hope now is to serve those corpses the best damn breakfast possible...

@Lithroe @SlyDante777 Okay, I'm at home now, watching it on my laptop, & I don't know what you're talking about...It's playing out exactly like I predicted. Garbled voices you can make out, with the annotations helping to clarify it. Did you already see it somewhere else or something? o_O

Sorry about that, I'm at work right now & don't have any speakers...Just kinda assumed that the annotations were clarifying anything in the background, like a garbled voice you tend to hear in these situations. Still, this was the video io9 went with...Maybe that was the message over the frequency they used or something. Anyhow, until more info comes along, my bad.
