The device that hopes to be the even-better version of Kinect for your PC is getting us ever closer to 3D displays that can be manipulated by your fingertips.
Check it out, after the jump...
This guy Robbie Tilton really, really wants Iron Man technology. I guess we all do, but most of us try to imitate Mr. Stark be drinking heavily and being a smartass. He's doing the other stuff.

Well, it's not really a hologram. It's more like a 2D reflection on glass. It just has four sides because there are four pieces of glass. It's not truly 3D.
Huh...this is interesting. Checking out Leap Motion was actually one of my first assignments at work a couple of months ago, along with some potential ideas that I don't know if I can discuss without leaking info...but the fact the TR crowd might be interested in this is giving me ideas. May have to look into this more on Monday...
Not bad. I wonder why he didn't invert his input signals so that the Earth rotated in the same directions as his hand gestures? The 3D prism technique is interesting.

@Someguy Yes it's interesting but it doesn't really work "from any angle" as you can plainly see when it goes past the corners... it works from four general angles. Also this isn't really a prism so much as it is four pieces of plexiglas... what's up with the 1911?
@Gallen_Dugall @Someguy Oh yea it is a locked angel system. Really one piece of angled Plexiglas would have done the see through reflective illusion but I'd never seen someone do it. Reminds me of the 90's HUDs we were suppose to have in all our cars by now.
Well 1911 was a hard time for the Chinese but a revolution can't be stopped.
@Gallen_Dugall @SlyDante777 Well when you miss meetings. But I was going to tell you the next open thread, really.
@SlyDante777 @Gallen_Dugall @Someguy Firestorm was the most cinematic out of the box campaigns ever developed for pen and paper gaming, absolutely epic.
@Gallen_Dugall @Someguy Well, I did tell Luke about the full teaser, but since I get one tip per day posted at most, it just didn't make the cut. =P
@Someguy @Gallen_Dugall in our cars? heck we were supposed to have them in our eyes according to Cyberpunk... oh my GLOB! I was looking for something to post about classic Cyberpunk and I discovered Cyberpunk 2077. WHY DON'T PEOPLE TELL ME THESE THINGS?
