I would like to ask for a moment of silence for two excellent animated series who fell before the stupidity of TV execs

Green Lantern, if at first we had doubts you would live up to the challenge, you quickly evolved from the simplistic "Saturday morning just for kids" plots to philosophical profound sagas which, to many a watcher's surprise, managed to use really well the intricate and difficult to render lantern power, offering us amazing space battle scenes that at no moment forewent dramatic tension and deep emotional moments, all that make using of what in the comics was a mess of "look all the pretty colors" lanterns plot line, and also used iconic moments from historical comics (dude, they did the Hand-of-God-at-the-Moment-of-Creation form Crisis on Infinit Earths, in glorious slow-mo). You ended up on the highest of notes, and the cliffhanger nerver to resolved was heartbreaking 

Young Justice, you started great, remained great throughout your run, and did not let down at its end. You were not afraid of taking liberty with, while at the same time figuring out how to pay homage, to major plot lines from the main DC comics time-line. You reintroduced to us characters we already knew and our feelings toward which ranged from loved-since-we-were-kids to meh-I-guess-they're-alright to who-the-hell-is-that-dude?, and even had the balls to take a five year jump to show how the characters would develop in this new universe.And just the thought of not seeing the Darkseid plot-line that is being set from episode 01 season 01 work itself to its inevitable conclusion (futuristic distopia?) is also a major fuck-you to our collective souls from the power-that-be

Neither of you underestimated the intelligence or emotional capacity of your audience nor went cheap with your animation. The offering of such a high level of quality does not seem the tendency for the future of this industry (or any other's), so it may be a long time until we see more like you again. Tron Uprising already went ahead of you, and next year Clone Wars and Transformers Prime will follow. A moment of silence, indeed.

Just started watching Castle...this show is great.  Why didn't I get involved in it sooner?

'Most Dangerous Cartoon Cities to Live In'

Detroit doesn't sound too bad after you consider these places.

Bedrock - The Flintstone's hometown only has a stated population of 2500. Yet, in every other episode, Fred and Barney are getting mixed up with criminals and gangsters. For a city barely the size of a small rural hamlet, it seems to have more crime in it than Chicago.

MegaKat City - Now don't get me wrong. I love the 'Swat Kats', I just don't want to live in their city. You could be there, minding your own business, and then suddenly you're eaten by a giant bacteria, blown up by air to ground missiles, squashed by dinosaurs brought into modern times, shot up by a ghost pilot or just plain old killed by a sentient robot. Plus I bet the place smells like crazy cat ladies apartment.

Springfield - Jeez! What isn't wrong with this place? The populace is composed of idiots. The police are chunderheads. It has a nuclear power plant that makes Chernobyl look safe. The schools are grim places where you don't learn, you survive. And worse, no one knows exactly where it is. Maybe its Purgatory.

Duckburg - This place is lorded over by an eccentric Scottish duck who has all the money ever minted, yet thinks 5 cents is too much to pay for a stick of gum. He keeps his cash inside a huge bin in the middle of the city. A bin that is always under siege by a criminal gang. A gang that the incompetent police department can't keep locked up because they're always fooled by the file-in-the-cake trick.  This gajillionaire duck also employs a personal pilot who has the flight skills of a blind penguin caught in rock tumbler. 

St. Canard - Another series I loved, but don't want to inhabit. Tons of crazy criminal lunatics everywhere and only an egotistical masked mallard to handle them. Living here expect to be menaced by living water, an electric psycho, a half-plant nutball, a schizoid clown toymaker, and the evil counterpart to the shows hero. Oh, and that incompetent pilot from Duckburg is here too.

Townsville - Oh boy. Where to start. It is attacked by rampaging kaiju every other day. There are supervillians living on every street. The mayor is a senile old coot. But worst of all, the cities heroes are three hyper-powered laboratory abominations who cause more damage than they prevent (really, they've leveled the city on more than one occasion.) but no one ever calls them out on this because they are practically indestructible and might just very well beat the hell out of you just for shits and giggles.

And now, a supercut of movie moments where the fourth wall is broken. It's pretty good, though I'm kind of annoyed it didn't use Bill Murray from Scrooged during the credits, trying to lead the audience in with a singalong. Still awesome, though.
