Remember when the only Imax 3D movies were 45-minute documentaries you had to watch at science museum? And remember how – unlike many of today’s 3D Imax movies – they were actually shot for that format, and not to cynically add a surcharge to some superhero movie you’d pay to see anyway?
This Friday, Island of Lemurs: Madagascar takes you back to those days, with documentary visuals so dazzling in the maximum dimensions that you may have to watch a few times, to learn the biology at work beneath the in-your-face performances of Madagascar’s finest. In an attempt to prime you for the science, however, I went to talk to some of the movie’s stars: scientist Dr. Patricia Wright…and Felix the Lemur.
