I must admit, I never, ever thought there would be R.E.M. action figures of any kind.
Who would you like to see next in NECA's celebrity guest star line?
The Rolling Stones. I mean, The Ramones.
@crashedlux @john_everhart @ethank @m_millsey aw they're so cute! I wish Bill was included (just for good measure)
There really better be a Weird Al. It's about time America.
Ron Howard with Fantastipotamus accessory.
There is no way on earth that Weird Al shouldn't be part of this. Otherwise, may I humbly suggest:
3) Paul & Linda
I've always wanted Comic Book Guy as The Collector, but they never seem to have it at eBay. That one time I checked.
Ed Begley, Jr. in his go-cart powered by his own sense of self-satisfaction is probably a stretch.
Absolute Top of the list: Conan O'Brien, Mel Brooks, David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, David Hyde Pierce as Cecil, Jackie Mason as Rabbi Krustafsky, Jon Lovits as the Critic but that is pushing it.
Weird Al, John Waters, Sting, Bob Hope, Tom Jones, Adam West, Johnny Carson, Ernest Borgnine, Ed McMahon, Cindy Lauper, Elton John, David Byrne, Steve Buscemi, William H Macy, Kiefer Sutherland, Drew Carey.
I want Penn and Teller enough to shank someone, anyone.
Considering how many guest stars the Simpsons have had over the decades, I could see this action figure line having hundreds of celebrities.
Hope collectors have tons of cash.
I never got into simpsons, but I kinda want that pen and teller set, if only to do a double Kamehameha with my Goku figure
Know im quoting this wrong but at work.
Once again Leonard Nimoy saves the day.
But you didnt do anything!
Didnt I Marge, didnt I?
Part of me really wants some of these*, but then the rational part of me screams, NO! Simpsons is nothing but a horrible shadow of what it once was.
* All excluding R.E.M.
Well, I'd prefer more celebrities who actually played a major part in a classic episode, like Leonard Nimoy there. Either that or Aerosmith with a full Flaming Moe's playset, complete with crazy Homer in the rafters. Or a Spinal Tap playset with a deflating devil & water all over the hockey rink/stage. Or a Homerpalooza playset with Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Cypress Hill & Peter Frampton action figures complete with a cannon that shoots a pig from Pink Floyd's yard sale. Or a Krusty Comeback Special playset featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hugh Hefner & Johnny Carson action figures (complete with 1987 Buick Skylark-lifting action). And of course, they would all be interchangeable.
...Seriously, this is just me spitballing. And yet the pros at NECA spent all this time just to come up with Bret Hart from a fifteen-second cameo? Come on, get it together, dammit!
Weird Al Yankovic should be on the list too.
@OneMinuteGalactica You can always find the Burger King Collector at the Goodwill.
@trowa_195 Mulder and Scully would be pretty sweet.
@y2jbrak For me those two and Bret Hart.
@skrag2112 The strong implication is that there will only be 25 total in this line. But who knows.
@kegs But...so what?
Most people would say Star Wars and/or Star Trek is a horrible shadow of what it once was. Have we stopped buying Shatner/Vader stuff?
A playset based on the Rock&Roll fantasy camp would be great.
@SlyDante777 Well, you're spitballing playsets when they're clearly not doing any. And you're also thinking in terms of significance to story, while NECA is probably thinking of who will sell - Bret Hart has a proven track record of selling as an action figure, and REM we will literally never get any other way, though they have legions of fans.
@troi One of my co-workers brought up Gerald Ford the other day wondering if there was any pop culture references or if he just disappeared after his presidency
Crap. I can see your point. Well, I hope you'll give my empty wallet a good home.
I would buy the heck out of Shatner/Vader stuff.
You have not experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Bocce.".
@LYT @SlyDante777 Are you suggesting that Spinal Tap figures wouldn't sell? That, my good sir, is the raving of a madman.
Although seriously, I will just settle for the figures. But keep the playsets in mind, NECA.
@SlyDante777 @LYT Spinal Tap probably would, but they have been made before. I wouldn't be surprised if you see them later.
