The New Terminator Salvation Movie Hates You So F**king Much

I've certainly poked fun at the fourth Terminator movie here at TR, what with its lack of James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and basically all of the elements that made the franchise successful. But technical issues aside, the trailer for the movie that came out a few days ago wasn't that bad, mostly thanks to Christian Bale (I tell ya, that kid might have a future in acting).
Apparently, it was all a ploy to get us to put down our guard for this massive shit they just took on our collective heads—they're hiring Roland Kickinger, the guy who played Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Arnold biopic See Arnold Run, to be the Arnold-model Terminators. The man was on Son of the Beach, for god's sake. Of all the options they could have taken—CG, generating actual new ideas—they chose this one, and now Christian Bale has to act with this man. I'm officially changing this movie's status from "clueless" to "utter contempt for its fanbase." (Via FilmDrunk)

Yeah, honestly, I was disappointed the moment I found out that Bale was playing John Connor. I originally heard "Terminator" and "Christian Bale" only to have my mind flooded with images of how perfect he would be AS a terminator of some kind. I guess my expectations will continue to roll downhill, then.

And it's not like this dude is gonna have a monologue. I'd pay cash money to see Bale shoot him in the face several thousand times, then drop him into a hydraulic press.
