Will Smith Is Determined to Be Legend
So there’s going to be a prequel to I Am Legend, again with Will Smith. I think I speak for all of us when I make an obscene wanking motion in response. I actually liked I Am Legend despite the fact that all the “vampires” were so blatantly CG, and were thus not terrifying to the tiniest degree, but this prequel sounds like a horrible idea. First of all, the first film already had flashbacks to the “vampire” virus spreading, and it wasn’t that interesting. Secondly, it’s not like we don’t know how a prequel’s going to turn out?everyone dies, and Will Smith ends up alone in NYC?what more can you possibly say? Third, the best parts of I Am Legend were Will Smith freaking out as the last human, alone and alive, and any prequel would necessarily have zero percent of that.
Now, a sequel in a world of vampires, where Will Smith genuinely is “legend” among them? I’d watch the hell out of that.
