The Rhythm Has Got Darth Vader
Posted at 4:20 PM Nov 07, 2008
Ladies and gents, let me make up this morning's scurrilous and inaccurate nerd reporting/YouTube video posting to you with this video of an old Muppets tune set to Star Wars footage. It's new to me despite clearly being old, so if you've seen it already, you have my apologies, and I direct you to this video of Crocodile Dundee re-edited as a rather terrifying horror flick. As for this video, despite having one joke repeated as nauseum, I find something quite wonderful of Dr. Teeth's voice coming from Darth Vader—much thanks to the awesomely named Briahlen Hand for the tip. You guys have a good weekend, and I'll meet you back here Monday morning.

Uh, you know that's not really Darth Vader singing, right? He's totally lip-synching.
Duped again, Bricken!
Posted 11/07/2008 at 01:46:52 PMThat's new to me too, but anything with Dr. Teeth is worth watching at least once anyway.
Posted 11/07/2008 at 01:54:35 PMBrilliant. Lost me a little for including the new stuff (although the look on Jabba's face as his tail is stepped on is always worth a cheap laugh), but at least they kept the original dead trio!
Posted 11/07/2008 at 02:10:42 PMMan, Crocodile Dundee almost looks like a movie I'd want to watch.
Posted 11/08/2008 at 12:33:11 AMI hate to be pedantic, but that song was never performed by Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. It was, in fact, sung by Mahna Mahna & The Two Snowths. Very common misconception.
(But then, Mahna Mahna and Dr. Teeth share the same voice actor, so it probably doesn't matter.)
Posted 11/08/2008 at 01:06:35 AMThe song Mihna Mihna was from a soft core porn movie before it was used on The Muppet show.
Posted 11/08/2008 at 03:36:15 AMI'll see your Vader, and raise you...by what appears to actually be Dr. Teeth, if spawned from a world where the sun burns cold. (Or possibly Vampire Hunter D):

Posted 11/08/2008 at 05:01:12 AM...Actually, the origin of Mnah mnah goes to a pair of Texas AM C&W DJs who did the original song as "The Geezinslaw Brothers". One of the few hit novelty songs that never gets as much airplay on the Dr. Demento show as one might expect.
Posted 11/08/2008 at 02:55:00 PMWow, thanks for the compliment on the name. *blushes*
Glad you liked the vid. My best friend, Jo Anna, showed it to me one day...& I thought it should be spread to the masses. I'm glad you posted it ^_^
Posted 11/10/2008 at 05:34:35 AMThis video is a new favorite of mine. I've watched it entirely too many times already, and I still love it. I just wish the editing were slightly tighter, but that's just how much of a nerd I really am.
